Lo Celso is still on holiday in Argentina but is expected back in training at Real Betis next week. The main squad is in Mexico but he’ll train with the youngsters and other late arrivals. Betis still plan on selling him but last #THFC offer – €50m – deemed too low (@Estadio_ED)
— Andrew Gaffney (@GaffneyVLC) July 24, 2019
I had a chat with an old hand in the ‘Online Football Content’ world this morning.
The going rate for your average intern knocking out a 300 word article these days is a fiver, these pieces are bundled in 10s to hit a £50 payout threshold.
Yep, that’s what I thought too.
According to his Twitter account, Mr Gaffney is looking for a job. I wonder what the going rate for recycling Spanish press bits and pieces is, and do you get paid more for not needing to use Google Translate?
The ability to sift the wheat from the chaff is what’s worth paying for. Provide some analysis, some intelligence.
The above Tweet from Mr Gaffney doesn’t contain information from any sources worth sharing. Examples of chaff.
Maybe work on padding these Tweets out to a few hundred words, do that 10 times and someone will PayPal you £50.

Shit. I voted remain and that was winning and now look….
Alan Brazil shilling for Levy’s season ticket campaign again. 80 mill for Dyabala is this weeks bolox hahahaaha!! Do me a favour. Last week Bale, now Dyabala. Lo Celso comes into it somewhere supposedly. Like Levy’s spending that kind of cash even with severe sales. Everyone and his dog was telling us nobody in the world would come and play 2nd fiddle to Kane….and now Dyabalas leaving Juve to do just that. Hahahaha! Do fuck off. Roll up roll up….geeeeeet ya season tickets. Con artists. Just incredible transparent nonsense.
Ron was binned. If you found his dementia riddled posts interesting then you can go too
Blade Runner was terrible, the original and t he remake.
Wheres ronwolf? Often had insightful opinions/views… Used to enjoy reading him on here
Roy Batty lived just 3 years, but then forever. God speed Rutger……
Good question. However I’d be careful who you ask ?
I’m going to keep it running and then make a North Korean style announcement ☺️
I was anticipating the new Levy to have completed 2x deals this week, but I worry now that there is a strong streak of recidivist in him and he is defaulting back to old Levy. Get Lo Celso, get Sessegnon; sell the spares ….. we are already in pre-season playing friendlies and learning team dynamics. Daniel, you’re on the pot; time to shit or get off.
RIP Roy Batty,
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die
Call me thick, but while many are crossing their teeth that Tobes and Eric stay, what if they then do a Ramsey and by new year sign for free for personal gain. Whatever is said about DL, he is not stupid and must have thought about this and so he must be either confident off getting rid now or have given them an offer they can’t refuse. If so he will then sell at Chrimbo to add to his pension fund.

Paulo Dybala… Big statement if we get him. Top top player.. Someone who would really improve us.. Rather than all these potentials .. We need a world class player or two to really kick on.. Dybala would be fantastic
Great film Blade Runner. So he’s on holiday. What’s the rush Levy?
So when are sesse and Veloso signing, medical booked apparently but it’s all just bollocks
If you are correct I’ll be congratulating you like a babbling halfwit. But, when Levy makes a signing it tends to happen quickly and with little forewarning. These “long term interest” stories always end up being shown to be without substance.
The Lo Celso situation doesn’t seem that far removed from the Ndombele one – that dragged on a bit with only ITK to suggest that it would happen (and it did) so I’m relaxed about it.
H any chance of integrating ‘the poll’ into a week or two’s worth of blogs so as many people as poss get to see it and make their preferences known? Just an idea.?
Why is taking so long just sign him already.
Marbella Spur – A bit rich calling some doom mongers. Yes Crack needs some help (only joking) but I for one call what I see, live, in front of me. 20 odd years of hope and false dawns…part of me agrees with you and I think Lo Celso, Sess and maybe one more should be enough this transfer but it aint happened yet my friend!
off topic – watch Netflix “The Great Hack”,….scary shit…
I am delighted to be described as a keyboard warrior. I have no inside information re Lo Celso, but I feel that they have signed Fekir, at what appears to be a very cheap deal. There do not appear to be any other clubs in for him and he is an Argentinian which might work in our favour. I also believe that we have had a long standing interest in Sessegnon and his brother, and that he wants to remain in London. I understand that most of the bloggers on this site are not fans of Levy, neither am I, but there comes a time when although everything is still up in the air, I feel that our transfer policy has changed for the positive. When I am proved wrong, I will apologise fulsomely, and I expect you to congratulate me for being prescient if I am correct.
Dybala, yes please.
What Coco should have been, swap them and come cash. They sort of have the same funny running style, or CE23 and Coco or cash.
In what way are you not a keyboard warrior?
Do you have any evidence at all, other than unsubstantiated online gossip, that there are ongoing negotiations to sign Lo Celso?
Yes signing Lo Celso and Sessegnon without further losses would mean we had an improved squad. No further signings and the loss of Rose would leave us weakened.
That’s not being a doom monger, that’s reason informed by the last four transfer windows.
Although I am no fan of Levy’s, if I was a betting man, I would guess that the doom mongers amongst you will be proved wrong and that there will be further signings, including Lo Celso and Sessegnon. Whether that will be enough to satisfy some of you keyboard warriors remains to be seen , but if we retain Toby and Eriksen, we will have a stronger squad than last season.
Haringey 1-0 up. (QPR) well worked goal. Up the boro.
Boro 2 up.
“I shall see you the week after, the month after, the year after……..and I shall put a trophy in front of you.
Said nobody under Levy.
The annual summer saga of our pursuit of some euro star or other always ends the same way. Nothing happens.
Seems to me there’s nothing beyond PR in these rumblings. If we were going to sign Lo Celso we would have done it weeks ago.
In other news we look likely to lose another fine 1st choice full back.

Yep, sky and the Prem killed the English game. TV money is God and gate receipts are no longer important. Coasting is success now.
You’ve got to admit though that the bit about Levy not offering enough does ring true, he’s got previous form for that as long as your arm – it’s in his dna. All these people saying we’re in a brave new world of transfers with Levy at the helm are I think guilty of wishful thinking. Certainly there’s been no evidence of it thus far this window.
So what is the hold up!!
Sadly, I agree totally with Gazza (below). All I want is for us to start a season with a real, genuine chance, just one season – probably for the first time in my life (I’m 47). But there’s too much work to do with this neglected squad now for that to be the case next month.
I realise Man City are ridiculously strong, and I can understand the hopelessness of trying to compete with their millions while the footballing hierarchy turn blind eyes to how these millions are gotten. But truth is Enic have no intention of trying. It’s been said here countless times already – scrape top 4 and it’s happy days. A few good signings over the past three years or so would have put us in such a strong position. But winning at football – and I mean really winning – just isn’t an essential part of their business model.
The Premier League is now full of clubs who’s ‘model’ of success is just staying where they are and taking the cash – I mean, there’s so much cash so why bother risking anything further. With a few exceptions, owners of clubs in the bottom half are happy to stay in the bottom half, the middle ones happy to stay in the middle and so on and so on. Enic, I’m sure delighted and surprised to be where they are now (four top 4s in a row), have no intention of going anywhere.
No bother from fading Arsenal again though will ensure ENIC fc limp into 4th again for the targets. Arsenal have sold their soul and been used up and spat out…..there are fresher souls getting lapped up now….Levy will be OK for a couple of years…..just don’t expect any silverware.

probably player sales, he’s at 11.5m above net so needs to get more money in as we all know profit goes into buying 300 home plots “down the road”
A week of July left….1 late Mousa replacement in. Another storming window on the cards. A late show is needed…..
Pre season fixtures will be over this weekend so I’m still holding my breath regarding Levy being Brave…
