Quality Serie A youngster wanted by Tottenham but cost could be a tricky issue

By Bruce Grove -

A report from La Repubblica via Daily Record claims that Tottenham wants to sign AS Roma top youngster, Nicolo Zaniolo in the next transfer window.

Zaniolo has been one of the best youngsters in the Italian Serie A this season, and a number of teams would have been watching his performances with keen interest.

Spurs have the need for some fresh legs in their team that would bring some added creativity to Jose Mourinho’s side, and Zaniolo can provide just that.

Seeing how fine his performance has been for them, Roma would not want to let him go on a cheap and the same report claims that the Italians would demand up to £63 million.

This fee would be a lot for spurs to cough up for the attacker, especially considering the times that we are in.

Spurs are one of the teams that have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, and the Lilywhites are unlikely to be so generous in the next transfer window.

The same report also claims that Zaniolo is keen to remain in Italy and convincing him to move to England would be another hurdle for Spurs.

Jose Mourinho is one of the most respected managers in the world, and he may be able to use his influence to convince the 21-year-old that a move to north London is best for him.

A brilliant player but a Levy lowball bid of £15m plus an add-on would end the matter.

Too many negatives, the price, and the fact he wants to stay in Italy. Next.
