Pundit reckons Arsenal fans will be worried about Spurs development under Jose Mourinho

By Bruce Grove -

Former Gunner Kevin Campbell believes that Arsenal fans will be worried about the developments at Tottenham after the Lilywhites made Jose Mourinho their manager and signed Gareth Bale.

In recent years, Spurs have been looking like the better north London side and they finished above Arsenal in the league last season when both teams were struggling in all competitions.

Arsenal has won the FA Cup and the Community Shield this year, but Spurs have entered this season looking like the better-equipped side.

The Lilywhites have started this campaign brightly and they have also been in fine form in Europe, well, until Antwerp that is.

They have seen the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min fire them into a good position on the league table.

The club is yet to see the best of Bale as the Welsh winger is still working his way back to full fitness.

Campbell believes that Arsenal fans will look over at their neighbour’s yard and be worried about what is happening.

“This is every Arsenal fan’s worst nightmare,” Campbell told Football Insider.

“Mourinho making a difference at Spurs and Spurs getting Bale in, strengthening that squad and looking really strong.

“Can they win the league? Yes, there will be a difference with Mourinho at the helm. Will they? They better not! It’s one of those, we know the attacking prowess they’ve got, we know Harry Kane, Son, Bale now.

“They’ve got an embarrassment of riches but to win a title you have to had tread that path, most of the time, Leicester were an anomaly and an anomaly happens once in a blue moon.

“You have to have been successful, as far as I’m concerned, to go that whole way. Spurs haven’t done it, they’ve got no history of doing it.

“Can they beat anybody? Yes they can, they can beat anybody. Do they have that longevity and consistency to do it week to week? I’m not convinced yet, I need to see them against some of the bigger teams.

“Obviously the West Ham 3-3 would have knocked their confidence, but they came back with a win so fair play to them.”

It’s a long season and it looks like Citeh and Cheatski are just starting to click. Cheatski bought a lot of quality in the summer. We are looking good with lots of options and depth but are we better than everyone else? Only time will tell. A League season usually decides these things, with or without fans which might juggle things about more.

The gooners are really jealous of our set up, really really jealous. They also know our future is brighter than theirs. 🌚. Why did we build a stadium just for football they must think. Coz Islington council wouldn’t have it any other way that’s why😂
