Ange Postecoglou’s tenure at Tottenham Hotspur since last summer has been marked by a remarkable transformation both on and off the pitch.
Despite being an unpopular choice for the managerial role initially, Postecoglou has overseen a resurgence in Tottenham’s style of play, leading them to an impressive 10-match unbeaten start to the season and securing three consecutive Manager of the Month awards.
And despite having faced a major injury crisis for a big part of the season, Postecoglou has done well to keep Tottenham competing for a top 4, currently sitting in 5th place just two points behind Aston Villa, with a game in hand. If they win their extra game, they will leap over them to claim the 4th spot.
Postecoglou’s impressive start to life at Tottenham has not gone unnoticed, attracting interest from several clubs, including Liverpool, who are seeking a successor to Jurgen Klopp.
However, Fabrizio Romano recently dismissed any reports linking him with a move away, claiming that the Australian is happy at North London. And now, Alan Hutton has also shared his two cents on the matter.
Hutton says Ange is going nowhere
He says that Ange will not jump ship. Hutton emphasised Postecoglou’s down-to-earth nature and dedication to building something at Tottenham, suggesting that he will be backed by the club’s hierarchy and motivated to bring success to North London.
Hutton told Tottenham News:
“I can’t see him leaving,”
“Not right now. I just don’t see him as that type of guy, he’s so down to earth, you can hear the way that he talks. I just don’t see him upping sticks and leaving after the time that he’s been here.
“He’s creating something at Tottenham, I think he’ll be backed by Daniel Levy and they’ll bring in the targets that he wants. They’re in a good place right now.
“I know they’ve not won a trophy since 2008 and every manager before him has tried to fix that, I’m sure he’ll be desperate to as he is a winner himself.
“I just don’t think he’ll jump ship, I genuinely don’t think he’s that type of guy.”

Liverpool are not the only club reportedly interested in him. Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be eyeing him. However, for now, Spurs should have nothing to worry about.
