Manchester United eyeing ambitious move for key Tottenham figure

By Mehdi Gokal -

Ange Postecoglou made an instant impact since taking over the Tottenham job last summer.

He was the least popular name linked with the club but the job he has done has been nothing less than incredible.

In a brief time, he has had Tottenham playing some of the best football in the league, restoring their lost identity.

He has also managed to create a special bond between the players, the fans and the club, which has had effects on and off the pitch.

He guided Spurs to a 10 match unbeaten start, winning 8 and drawing 2, winning three Manager of the Month awards in a row.

However, Tottenham’s season has been marred with injuries which has had an affect on their performances.

Despite the injury struggles, Ange has done well to keep steering the ship, and keeping them within reach of a top 4 finish.

His excellent performance has garnered interest from several top clubs, with reports suggesting Manchester City are eying him as a long-term Pep Guardiola replacement, while Liverpool have also been linked with him as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp who announced he would leave this summer.

Another club that has emerged as admirers of the Australian is Manchester Untied. Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks set to replace Erik ten Hag in the summer with the club reportedly in search of the right replacement.

England manager Gareth Southgate has emerged as a target but he has distanced himself from the job for now with full focus on the Euros.

Meanwhile, ESPN reports that nine other managers are under consideration by the Red Devils, including the Tottenham manager.

The report claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is determined to be ‘as ambitious as possible with his appointments’, which is why a move for the Australian has not been ruled out.

TBH Says:

We should not be worrying about losing Ange Postecoglou just as yet. He is known to be a project manager and will not leave the club after just one season.

He has hinted consistently this season that he is looking at long-term results with a growth in performances and mentality.
