“Nowhere near good enough” – Pundit makes brutally harsh comments about one Tottenham star

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham January signing Timo Werner has been brutally criticised by Alan Brazil.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw against London rivals West Ham earlier this week. Brennan Johnson gave the away side the lead inside 5 minutes, but they could not hold on to it as West Ham equalised 15 minutes later.

The game ended in a draw, with Tottenham fans feeling they dropped two important points in their fight to finish top 4.

Fortunately for them, Aston Villa played Manchester City later and they could not take advantage of Spurs’ dropped points as they got beaten 4-1.

Alan Brazil on Timo Werner

The pundit spoke about Timo Werner’s recent performances for Spurs, claiming that he doesn’t think the German is good enough.

He brutally laid into him, claiming that he should leave football and do punditry instead, as he is nowhere good enough to be playing.

He told talkSPORT:

“I was baffled, take off one of the wide players, I’m sorry, Werner for me, he might as well sit here (in the studio), I don’t want to be nasty, but just come and sit here, he’s nowhere near good enough top class.”

Timo Werner criticism uncalled-for

The comments from Brazil are extremely surprising as the German international is one of the players who has been playing quite well for Spurs.

Timo Werner has been in decent form for Spurs

He was a constant threat against Luton, and assisted Tottenham’s goal vs West Ham as well with some brilliant play.

He has 2 goals and 3 assists in 10 league games for Spurs so far, three of those goal contributions coming in the last 5 games. (Transfermarkt)

And considering he is available for just £15m in the summer, he would prove to be a fantastic signing, specially if Spurs qualify for the Champions League.
