Pundit claims top-class manager wants the Tottenham job but Daniel Levy is not interested

By Mehdi Gokal -

Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to return to Tottenham Hotspur, but Daniel Levy is not interested in bringing him back, according to Alan Brazil, the former Scotland international footballer and talkSPORT presenter.

In a recent broadcast, Brazil claimed that Pochettino, who currently manages Paris Saint-Germain, wants to go back to his former club, but that Levy has ignored him and not spoken to him.

He said:

“I think he is a lovely fella, and I mean, a real nice charming guy. He lives in Barcelona, he lives in Hertfordshire, he wants to go back to Tottenham, right, there is no doubt about it.

“Daniel has blanked him, has not spoken to him, I believe. If he was to get the Chelsea job, I would say every chance of doing well, and I mean that. He is a nice, nice guy.”

Despite being snubbed by Levy, Pochettino is said to have no shortage of admirers, with Chelsea reportedly showing a keen interest in him.

Fabrizio Romano, a well-known Italian journalist, recently reported that Chelsea have contacted the Argentine coach and that further talks are planned.

And according to the Telegraph, Chelsea and Pochettino have held a series of positive talks, with the London club now warming up to the idea of appointing the former Spurs manager.

It is unclear why Levy is reportedly uninterested in rehiring Pochettino, who helped transform Tottenham into a consistent top-four side and led them to a Champions League final. Pochettino is also well-liked by fans and some players who reportedly want to work with him again.

With Pochettino reportedly keen on a return to Tottenham and a potential move to Chelsea on the horizon, Levy may have to rethink his stance on the Argentine coach. Meanwhile, fans of both clubs will eagerly await the outcome of the ongoing saga.
