Bayern Munich executives recently held a crucial meeting with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in Central London to discuss the potential transfer of Harry Kane.
While the meeting did not result in an agreement being reached, it was not considered a setback either, as reported by BILD.
According to English media, Bayern Munich are reportedly £20 million short of Tottenham’s valuation of Kane, and Spurs are interested in including a buyback clause in any potential deal.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs claims that there remains a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs. Bayern is attempting to structure a deal worth around £80 million, but it may not be enough to satisfy Tottenham’s demands.
Despite the lack of an agreement in the initial meeting, Bayern indicated that they will return with a new offer. They are also willing to increase their bid beyond their original plans, potentially benefiting from the sale of Sadio Mane.
Bayern considers the meeting with Spurs to be positive due to the level of detail discussed, and the talks between the two clubs are set to continue throughout the week. The German club may seek Harry Kane’s involvement in putting pressure on Tottenham to facilitate the transfer.
Ben Jacobs tweeted:
“Bayern consider today’s meeting with Spurs quite positive simply due to the level of detail discussed. However, there remains a significant gulf in valuation. Bayern trying for a total package of around £80m. Unlikely to be enough.”
“Bayern indicated they’ll make a new offer. They will ask Kane to put pressure on Spurs after it. Still no agreement close. Spurs-Bayern talks will continue this week. Bayern may be able to go higher than originally planned after selling Sadio Mane on preferable payment terms.”
TBH says:
As reported earlier, transfer insider Dean Jones believes a deal is likely to be completed in the next few days after the meeting today. Spurs too will now want to get done with the deal considering they are short of time to find a proper replacement for him with the start of the new season looming. Which is why there is big possibility that Bayern’s next offer which is going to be close to £80m could be accepted.
