Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
The 28-year-old Denmark international has fallen down the pecking order at the north London club and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time.
Tutto Mercato web claims that the player would like a change of scenery in January and Ange Postecoglou is prepared to ‘give his blessing’ to the transfer on one condition.
The Tottenham manager wants a replacement of equal quality. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can bring in the right reinforcements. In addition to that, the North London outfit are not keen on loaning him out next month and they want a permanent sale. In the event of a loan move, there will be an obligation to buy close included in the contract.
Hojbjerg has not started regularly for Tottenham and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career. An exit from Spurs would be ideal for him and he will hope that Juventus can come to an agreement with the English club soon.
Meanwhile, Tottenham will lose players like Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr due to the African Cup of Nations in January. Rodrigo Bentancur is sidelined with an injury and the North London outfit are in desperate need of reinforcements.
They cannot afford to sanction the departure of the Danish international midfielder without bringing in quality alternatives. With Champions League qualification at stake, Tottenham will have to be careful with their transfer decisions next month.
It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
