Postecoglou ‘does not trust’ £32 million Tottenham ace, ready to get rid of him

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is prepared to cash in on Sergio Reguilón this summer.

The 26-year-old defender was on loan at Atletico Madrid last season, but he barely featured for the Spanish giants and it seems that he is not a part of Tottenham’s first-team plans going forward either.

Spurs paid £32 million for the defender when they signed him from Real Madrid and he was expected to develop into one of the best left-backs in the league.

However, he struggled to make his mark under the likes of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, and now Postecoglou has chosen to overlook him even without working with him.

According to a report from El Confidencial, the 57-year-old Australian manager ‘does not trust’ the Spaniard as a defender and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get rid of him permanently this summer.

It is evident that the 26-year-old does not have a future at Tottenham, and it would make sense for the two parties to go separate ways.

He loan needs regular football in order to get his career back on track and a permanent exit from Tottenham would be beneficial to his career.

He was rated quite highly prior to his move to Tottenham and it remains to be seen whether he can get back to his best and get his career back on track.

As for Tottenham, it remains to be seen whether they decide to sign a quality left-back this summer.
