Eric Dier’s altercation with a fan after Tottenham’s encounter with Norwich City in the FA Cup this week is now reportedly being investigated by police.
BBC Sport note that both the FA and Spurs are looking into the incident after the midfielder made his way into the stands and confronted a fan after he had allegedly insulted him as his brother became involved too.
While security ensured that the situation didn’t escalate further, the Evening Standard now report that the police are also looking into the matter.
It’s added that they will firstly take a lead role in the investigation, with both the FA and Spurs standing by to draw a conclusion on their findings.
Meanwhile, as noted by Sky Sports, Jose Mourinho insisted on Friday that Dier could be involved against Burnley this weekend, as he has no reason to question whether or not he’s in the right frame of mind to do so.
After Spurs crashed out of the FA Cup in midweek, they’ll be looking for a boost in their pursuit of Champions League qualification on Saturday.
