Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Feyenoord manager Arne Slot in recent weeks.
A report from the Times claimed that Tottenham are following the 44-year-old and could make an approach at the end of the season.
Slot has done an impressive job at the Dutch club this season and Feyenoord are currently on top of their league standings.
The 44-year-old’s attacking philosophy has impressed a number of clubs around Europe and it will be interesting to see if Spurs manage to bring him as the long-term replacement for Antonio Conte.
The Italian manager was recently sacked following is public outburst where he criticised the players and the club hierarchy.
Cristian Stellini has been put in charge of the first team on an interim basis and Tottenham are looking to bring in a long-term solution to their managerial problem now.
The north London club have been linked with managers like Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino as well.
Reacting to the links with Slot, Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that the 44-year-old has similarities with the former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. He also added that the idea of Slot taking over at Tottenham sounds exciting.
“I do like Arne Slot,” he told the Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham podcast.
“The more I read about him I do quite like the idea of Arne Slot.
“He sounds like Pochettino, he sounds like a Pochettino in the making. And you know, Spurs have always looked for someone like Pochettino.
“Which of course, raises the question ‘why don’t you just go for Pochettino?’”
Slot prefers high-intensity attacking football like the former Tottenham manager and it will be interesting to see if he can succeed at the north London club should the move go through.
