🗣️ "Je suis déçu. Nous sommes le PSG et nous voulions gagner ce match."

Given the simply extraordinary affection still held for Mauricio Pochettino in some rather vocal quarters of the fan-base, I feel it would be remiss of us not to keep an eye on how our last gaffer gets on at PSG. Hopefully this will add and not detract to this place, especially if the coverage is kept balanced.
Personally I have to express a certain sense of pity towards Mauricio, as accepting an 18-month deal anywhere for a top-flight coach is an appalling situation to find one’s self in. There is no way of glossing over the contract length. It’s a term that many might find a little demeaning. It’s an Ian Holloway, and Ian Dowie type of deal, if we’re being honest with each other,

I think Harry’s transfer dealings and poor, if convenient memory indicate his reputation for untrustworthiness. But I loved him all the same.
Yes, he was manager at Barcelona. Mixed bag that for El Tel. Won the league once. Also managed to get knocked out of the Uefa Cup by Dundee United. Still a sore subject in Barcelona.
Winning the FA Cup in 91 was fantastic of course. Will never forget it. But in the league we were mostly terrible under Venables. So I think your statement “Poch had fck all on Terry Venables” is questionable at best.
Ha! So what you’re saying is that Poch in his very first match did better than we did in our first match of this season after we’d enjoyed our ‘new’ manager being in charge for 6 months.
Go on the Nuffink Much To Shout Abouts!
He won more than poch did. Here and in Spain
The same Venables that led Spurs to 10th, 13th and 15th in the leauge? Yep, that sounds very impressive. Won a cup though, and that`s all that is remembered.
“run about a bit”
He is not my mate, i met him only once, but i didnt miss the chance to ask about Harry. I dont want to say his name, he is coaching a champions league team now. I think they didnt get along well as human beings, he didnt say anything good about him. I personally like Arry, I met him once on the lane, he walked around our stand before the match, talked with fans and took pictures with kids. I feel that he is generally admired among us, but who know how it is to deal with him as a player on daily basis.
What happened to the the other 50 fun comments, truly enlightening stuff they were.
Did you ask your mate in what way was Harry untrustworthy? Not very competent re the game? Rubbish.
Arrys my guy man. I’ve met him several times. I like him.
a guy who once played under harry for portsmouth lead my teams training session once. I asked him about specifically about harry. He said that he is an untrustworthy person and not very competent, but he had a good coaching team around him so he got some results. Well, one mans opinion, but it can tell you something about Arry and why didnt he continue as spurs coach. I loved that 2010 team too, dont get me wrong
One trick pony. Arrys team got the the world taking us seriously again.
Inter west upper. Arry got us into the champions league first. What’s embarrassing about that? Ioved the way we played under him. Better than pochs teams in my opinion.
Poch had fck all on Terry Venables. Arrys football was much better than pochs
Mess we were in? Arry walked Into a proper mess.
Give the guy a break, it’s his first game, for God’s sake. Remember what a mess we were in before he came to Spurs. You can argue as to his merits till the cows come home and few will argue that his time was up, but with more backing from Levy, he could have achieved more.
Harry, stop it already, please. Its embarrassing
Not a great start this for Poch, even though six first team players were out injured.
But he made Spurs into a stabile top team, without getting much financial support from Levy. Will remember him for that. Arguable our best manager in thirty years. Terrible in his last 12 months though, aside from Tottenhams first ever CL final.
That’s it. In a nutshell.
I think it is fair for people to feel some affection towards MP for improving our standing in the EPL and Europe – just don’t confuse it with affection for a manager with great tactical nous who wins things.
