Plot Twist: Jake Humphrey Deletes His Bale Interview Tweet

For clarity, there was no way that BT Sport’s Jake Humphrey was giving fans a heads up for an interview that didn’t feature Gareth Bale. Ahead of the Southampton versus Tottenham game. Before noon on a Sunday. That was not just ‘exclusive’, but a ‘first’ interview.

Nor is it implausible for say Donna Marie Cullen (or someone else from Spurs) to have contacted BT Sport and requested that the Humphrey Tweet be deleted immediately. Nobody likes having their thunder stolen, especially a Premier League football club, wanting to milk their biggest transfer deal in decades.

Or, has an injury that hitherto failed to be picked up on any radar, suddenly appeared, as some outlets are seeking to infer?

I take a personal view that between Daniel Levy seeking to milk this, plus Jake Humphrey being a decent going neutral, that the announcement will be made shortly.

The alternative scenario is that Jake was conducting a ‘first’ and ‘exclusive’ interview with… “you-know-who” who?!
