‘Please accept the offer’: 24-yr-old wants club to honour promise & sanction Tottenham move

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson this summer.

The 24-year-old defender is a target for the north London club and Spurs have reportedly offered €22 million for him. A report from Turkish outlet Hurriyet claims that Galatasaray are holding out for a fee of around €25 million for their key defender.

Nelsson has now urged the club to let him leave for the Premier League. Apparently, the defender had a meeting with the club’s management and he reminded them that he did not push for a move at the start of the season and the Turkish outfit promised him that he would be allowed to leave the club in the near future.

Nelsson now wants Galatasaray to honour their promise and let him join Tottenham.

As per Hurriyet, the defender told the club hierarchy: “I did my part and didn’t leave at the beginning of the season. You promised me back then. Now I want to go to England or Spain. Please accept the offer that will make Galatasaray profit.”

It is no secret that Tottenham need to bring in defensive reinforcements and they will have to bring in a reliable partner for Cristian Romero. The Argentine has been the only reliable presence at the back for Tottenham.

Spurs need to tighten up defensively if they want to get back into the top four and compete for trophies.

Nelsson has proven himself to be a quality defender in the Turkish league, and he has the ability to do well in English football as well.

A move to Tottenham would be a major step up in the Denmark international’s career and it is no surprise that he is desperate to get the deal across the line.
