Plausible XI to Outwit Manchester City

By The Boy -

A big game tomorrow and one that falls squarely into the hackneyed ‘season defining’ category. If Tottenham want to send out a message that they sincerely mean business, then this is nothing less than a must win. There are no prizes for taking part and no kind words for losing a single game in any season, it’s just that some victories are tougher to obtain than others. As per this recent piece, we have our work cut out based upon the superior discipline City have shown in a number of keys areas.

I’ve dropped Bale, on the basis that right now, or at least at teatime tomorrow, we need to field our best XI and I really fancy Erik Lamela to cause Man City more problems than the Welshman might. Will Mourinho see it that way? I guess we’ll find out, but for me waiting for an hour to pass before introducing our occasionally wily Argentinian.

I will be very surprised if LoCelso gets a start, more likely Sissoko.

That team above is perfect with Bale to come on later & sprinkle star dust on the performance.

We need to be on that Man.U away form & run over them from the start

Honestly couldn’t guess a Jose 11. Playing two of the worst teams in the league our midfield was set up for defence. I 100% agree about the game though, this is statement of intent, city need this win badly, and have looked poor most of the season. We need a big scalp because currently (despite being 2nd) we haven’t beat a top tier team.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see a very defensive and counter attack approach, knowing city will get frustrated. So for me I can see sissoko or winks starting over lo celsco.

Oh… Also predict 3 shots on target all game.

I’d start Bale as we have been building up for this moment for 7 years. Bale starts, he scores, spurs go top of the league!!!!!

Yeah I like the look of that too.

Can’t see Jose starting both LoCelso and Tanguy in midfield though, he’ll probably go with Sissy in for one of them. He likes a bit of brute force does Jose.

Aurier too, can see him having an interesting afternoon if Sterling plays…
