This will be the first encounter between Tottenham and RB Leipzig. It’s also the first time the team from Leipzig is facing an English club in a competitive fixture whilst Spurs will be facing German opposition in the UCL round of 16 for the second consecutive season, after knocking out Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate in 2018/19.
No striker, no party? Far too difficult to make a pronouncement. What we do know is that Sonny’s absence is likely to be significant. Son Heung-Min has scored nine goals in his last 10 Champions League starts. In the knockout stages with Spurs, his record is five goals in seven starts. So it’s definitely a thing.
Forums and social media are awash with Plan B’s of varying degrees of cunning. My bet is that José will opt for selection that his players won’t find completely alien, and one that he can adapt without a total overhaul if the game is tougher than he hopes.

You make a fair point.I don’t think Mourinho will hesitate to bring Tanganga in if Jan’s struggling. It’s whether Jan can make his experience count.
Actually a good lineup all things considered.Lightweight up top,but I am happy to be proved wrong. The midfield looks solid for once,it’s there and in defence where we need to have success. It will be difficult though.
In that line up Vertonghen is the weak link, far too slow his legs have gone.Tanganga if fit should start.Or Davies on the left and Tanganga on the right.
The team Lloris Aurier Sanchez Auderwield Vertongen,Knembele Winks Celso Ali Moura Bergwyjn can beat R.B Leipzyg 2goals to Nil nice lead to take to Germany
No Dier is a positive start. The 3 in the middle have an idea of forward thinking. Dier just seems to stop the attacking instinct when he plays.
