Plausible Spurs XI vs West Ham

By Ron Carne -

Spurs conceded a 78th-minute goal to go down to an embarrassing midweek UEFA Europa Conference League defeat to Vitesse Arnhem after naming a completely changed line-up.

With their star XI well-rested, they’ll be champing at the bit to avoid more capital punishment, having lost all three London PL derbies this term, conceding three goals on each occasion.

The question is, are Tottenham’s best players up to the task of beating a West Ham side that has a goal difference, 8 points better than their own, and away from home?

Hot stat: West Ham’s home Premier League games this term have produced just one goal before the 25th minute.

Players to watch: Jarrod Bowen has netted second-half goals in each of West Ham’s last two home matches, while Son Heung-Min has scored the fourth goal in both of Spurs’ last two Premier League away fixtures.

Our prediction: Tottenham to win by a single goal.

I’d probably salvage Gil, Scarlett, and Tanganga (and maybe Rodon) from that fiasco. Not that I believe they’re first team quality right now, but in the future, they may be. The others are utter shirkers and wasters, including GLC, for whom I’ve had high hopes.

How can Harry Winks, whose last good performance came in 2018, have the gall to say he’s not getting enough chances to prove himself, is beyond me.

Spurs captain on the night? Ben Davies. That should tell us all we need to know. Bland, uninspiring, flat. Just like the performance itself.

The line up is picking itself as there are no other options especially after Thursdays fiasco.

Yeah. The first 11 comprises all our mostly trustworthy players, while the rest are just not good or reliable enough (or neither).

I still see significant question marks over most of our defense and the record signing. Let’s hope I’m wrong.

I see the plague of downvoters are back lol. We won’t see some people here unless we’re winning 2-0. They magically disappear when things go belly up.

Yeah same 11 as last Sunday, bit of a no brainer after the Thursday game.

Unfortunately outside the first 11 we are threadbare.

The BBC are carrying a story that Newcastle are looking at Coady and apparently he would be available for 20M.That seems to be very good value to me and he would be a great partner for Romero.

Sadly because of his age [28],Levy would never go for it,no resale value, but he is exactly what we need at the heart of our defence at the moment.

NES seems to have found his best 11 relatively quickly, which is a good thing. Especially, he figured out that there was no point in playing Dele (I wonder if he’s going against Levy’s wishes in this regard).

I would prefer to see someone else than Dier out there partnering Romero, but NES doesn’t seem to trust Rodon and Sanchez is extremely unreliable.

We’ve been mostly shocking in derbies and away games this season, but as long as there are no shirkers in midfield and no brainfarts from our defenders, we have a chance.

I cannot see us Win to be honest. They raise their game even when they are bad. Nono doesnt inspire confidence and I would take a Draw now.

Well, he put out that embarrassing dross on Thursday as this was a must win match. If we don’t win he should do the decent thing and offer his resignation!
