Tottenham player with 31 apps this season open to ‘packing his bags’ and leaving

By Saikat -

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not happy with his limited game time at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Danish international’s future has become the talk of the town and as per Tuttosport, the 28-year-old will not have a problem ‘packing his bags’ in the summer.

Hojbjerg was an integral part of their first team until last season where he had close to 3,900 minutes of first-team football but the arrival of Ange Postecoglou has had a serious effect on his game time. He might have featured in 31 matches but the defensive midfielder has less than 1,200 minutes of first-team football.

The former Southampton star situation at the North London club resulted in him being linked with Italian clubs during the winter transfer windows. Unfortunately, a move couldn’t happen back then but that could change in the summer.

The 28-year-old’s contract with the English club runs until the summer of 2025. With less than 18 months left on his deal, the upcoming transfer window is the North London club’s last chance to raise significant funds from his departure.

Tottenham ready to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

The report suggests that Tottenham will sanction his departure for a reasonable price in the summer as they do not want to risk losing out on him for free in a year’s time. Meanwhile, the player will have no issues packing his bag and heading through the exit door.

Juventus and Napoli are two clubs that have been linked with him for a while now. They are expected to make moves in the summer and it will be interesting to see if they can strike a deal with Daniel Levy who will look to ensure Spurs get the best possible deal for the Danish international.
