Paul O Keefe shares rather discouraging injury news ahead of the FA Cup clash against Manchester City

By Mehdi Gokal -

Paul O’Keefe has expressed doubts about James Maddison’s potential return for the upcoming game against Manchester City.

Maddison has been sidelined since November due to an ankle injury, missing 11 games during this period.

In his initial 11 appearances for Spurs, he made valuable contributions with 3 goals and 6 assists, establishing himself as a crucial player for Postecoglou both on and off the pitch.

A recent report from Matt Law suggested that the player is aiming for a return on Friday, but Paul O Keefe suggests otherwise.

When questioned on X about his potential return, he claimed that while Maddison is nearing full recovery, the match against Manchester City might be too soon for his comeback.

He also provided a discouraging update on Giovani Lo Celso, who suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup victory over Burnley, suggesting that there is currently no news on his recovery.

Additionally, O’Keefe mentioned that Manor Solomon is currently the closest to making a return.
