Opinion: Beat Liverpool and Tottenham will not be pretenders anymore

Tottenham’s game against Arsenal yesterday was always a tricky proposition, yet the Lilywhites got the win regardless.

Jose Mourinho’s game plan worked perfectly as we scored twice when Arsenal exposed themselves while attacking us.

That game comes after a similar gameplan had worked against Manchester City and that was another 2-0 win as well.

We have also played against Chelsea and Manchester United, beating the latter 6-1 in their backyard, while picking up a point in the draw against the Blues.

That said, Liverpool is still the team to beat.

The Reds have been depleted by injuries, yet Jurgen Klopp has managed to keep them competitive.

Their 4-0 win over Wolves at the weekend has helped them cut through our goal difference advantage.

They are a well-drilled side, but they showed against Aston Villa earlier in the season that they can be vulnerable too.

The Villans beat them 7-2 in the biggest shock result of the season. While I don’t expect us to beat them that silly, I think we can get a result against them.

Jose Mourinho doesn’t have the best of records against Jurgen Klopp and that will make a win against them even more special.

When we face them in nine days time, there is no reason why we cannot enter the game full of confidence.

My heart says 1-5 but my head says 1-2.
We have performed well up there several seasons without getting a result.
Nothing to fear. Wolves obvs. didnt have the right game plan at Dipperland.

I’d bet a $ to a doughnut that Jurgen is more ‘worried’ about facing THFC right now than probably any other team.
It’s a little spicier considering it’s joint top teams & with the prospect of his weakened/depleted defence having to cope with Son & Kane.
