“…one that will need surgery” – Doctor shares update on Tottenham attacker’s injury

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s Timo Werner has been ruled out for the rest of the season following an injury sustained against Arsenal.

Dr. Rajpal Brar, in an interview with Tottenham News shared further insight on the player’s injury.

He said:

“Based on the hamstring injury and Ange’s initial comments, this sounds like a Grade 3 injury at the least.

“His day-to-day will be looking to gradually restore strength and mobility to that hamstring.

“It is not one that will need surgery but he will need to be carefully monitored by the physios so as to avoid a re-injury.

“The adaptation to the Premier League too could’ve taken a toll on his body which abruptly ended his season.“

Werner joined Tottenham during the January transfer window on a loan agreement from RB Leipzig, which included an option for a permanent move worth €16 million.

His injury could potentially mark the end of his stint with the Lilywhites, as his loan deal only includes an option, not an obligation, for a permanent transfer.

The 28-year-old German international has expressed his desire to remain with Tottenham beyond this season.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has also voiced his satisfaction with Werner’s overall contributions to the team.

Werner’s absence is a significant blow for Tottenham, but the club will be closely monitoring his rehabilitation process.

The German forward’s future with the club remains uncertain, hinging on his recovery and Tottenham’s decision on the option for a permanent transfer.
