Off Field Gossip: Spurs Ace was acting like cock of the walk

By The Boy -

Roy Keane was a legendary footballer, a shockingly poor manager, and has now evolved into a real asset as a TV pundit. Last night wasn’t the first time the former Manchester United growler had torn into the superstar that is Dele Alli.

Earlier this month, Keane was quoted in The Mirror, warning the 23-year-old that getting the boot from the England squad might not be easy to reverse.

Last night, as Dele Alli reprised his Invisble Man routine for Tottenham – who could have done with some help as they were beaten by Liverpool again – the Irishman made an unwelcome revelation.

“He has had a few injuries, I give him that. But from what I hear off the field stuff, he basically thought he was a player. He thought he had achieved something. And today, he was non-existent.”

SkySports

No shock to hear this at all. Too much haircut, too much girlfriend and too many endorsements. Not enough football.

Non-existent is about right. 22 successful passes all night long. Passing accuracy in the doldrums at 71% – that’s woeful.

12 of his 22 magic touches were back passes.

The boy’s a time-waster.

I think it was in the contract he signed when he sold his soul to Levy that at the end he would just make all kinds of silly decisions to keep the heat off ENIC.
He’s a Munsun.

Rotate a good player…yet leave CE and Alli strolling about like they own the place and people should just be happy to see them. Poch is losing all my respect.

It was a stupid decision. You play your best players and Ndombele justified a place in our starting eleven against Liverpool. He had a good game midweek and offered us something we have lacked for ages and that is a forward transition player who can get our front players in behind defences. Instead he went with Ali and Eriksen and Winks and as a result we were run ragged most of the game conceding possession to Liverpool and waiting for a counter attack but with no one who could carry the ball forward. Sissoko is ok sometimes to do that up to the first third of the opponents half but then he just does not have the finesse or creative ability needed. Eriksen and Ali are gone. Winks was completely lost. That’s three players who were out there for most of the match who shouldn’t have been. Pooch is one of the worst offensive coaches I have seen. He is clueless. We scored and his mindset was to hold on to a one goal lead. You do not do that at Anfield allowing Liverpool onto to you. Totally inept tactics once again.

You don’t rotate a big money but who’s been playing well for a big match in October. That is crackers. It’s not the first time a players flow has been stifled by Maurice’s axe.

Back on the VAR Arsenal winner. It’s truly ridiculous as nobody can seem to tell why it was ruled out. My flashscore update said offside, well it certainly wasn’t that. There was no foul, nothing clear at all.
VAR was put in place to correct glaring errors. So fans wouldn’t go home feeling cheated. Well they did yesterday not for the first time but even more so cos there was no decision to make. It’s Arsenal but it goes beyond rivalry’s. This is corruption pure and simple. Why are the officials in that match not being investigated and grilled on why a goal was ruled out for no particular reason? Another weekend of incorrect farce, fans must speak up before the sport is finished off for good.
