TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has advocated for Tottenham to pursue a new striker to replace Richarlison’s role upfront amid the Brazilian’s underwhelming performances since his high-profile arrival last summer on a record-breaking fee.
Despite initial expectations of thriving under Ange Postecoglou’s, Richarlison has struggled to recapture his old form, hampered by an undisclosed health issue that necessitated pelvic surgery.
Since his return, the Brazilian has displayed a resurgence, netting four goals in three games, including a brace against Newcastle and a goal each against Nottingham Forest and Everton.
Despite the recent resurgence, Agbonlahor remains unconvinced, insisting Spurs should seek an alternative striking option in the upcoming January transfer window.
He expressed his sentiment on talkSPORT, stating:
“Richarlison might as well come sit next to me on a Monday night in my five-a-side, he’s not good enough, he’s not what Spurs need.”

The criticism is understandable given his past form but the new Richarlison looks to be the closest thing to his old self.
But he needs to perform consistently between now and the summer before Spurs make a decision on him .
