Breaking news from Romano Fabriziod this morning has shone a light on one of Tottenham Hotspur’s recent failed transfer negotiations. Paulo Dybala nearly left Juventus in the summer of 2020 for the bright lights of London. That said, nearly doesn’t count for much in football.
The Guardian‘s Sid Lowe spoke to Dybala at a time when perhaps his stock was at its highest; about football generally and the keen interest that had been drawn from Tottenham and Manchester United at that time.
The Argentine was certainly a target for Tottenham, the back pages were riddled with links to the boy and the suggestion was that Paulo Bruno Exequiel Dybala was close to joining Spurs. The Boy Hotspur managed to secure an exclusive interview with Dybala’s Super Agent, Flori Pola who described exclusively, how things went wrong.
Daniel Levy – I was told by Flori – had wooed the boy via WhatsApp, and Paulo had even secretly flown into London, and visited the stadium. The result of this trip turned out to be explosive. Dybala couldn’t believe he had been lied to.
“Ni siquiera había una sala de quesos!”
It was at this point the discussions collapsed according to Flori. His client was to remain at Juventus. Why the lie, Daniel, why?
And as for Leandro Damiao…. 😂
You wouldn’t take him? Crazy if you wouldn’t
Then the Falklands war happened.
Let me guess Dybala was looking for Camambert, Daniel was offering Easy Singles. Colllllapsioooo
Fantastic brilliant magic little player. ALL DAY LONG. Proper tottenham type.
I’m old enough to remember Ossie and Ricky, two South Americans who did us proud. Anyway it’s not like we’re successful without Dybala is it?
And being injured for half a season or more
Nice one
Worse April Fool ever!
No don’t want this guy another high wage prima. Also another South American who has to travel half way round the world every time there is a international break.
