Next Summer Daniel Levy Will Have A Seemingly Impossible Negotiation Ahead Of Him

By The Boy -

The return of Gareth Bale has been rather fairytale like, perhaps a rather mooted on given that the absence of fans from the stadiums has put paid to the echoing refrains of ‘Bale, Bale, Bale’. There’s an interesting piece in the English Marca this morning, which speculates about the future of the Welshman.

Tottenham’s loan deal runs until nest summer and as most will be aware, includes a rather hefty €15million subsidy to the Real Madrid stars’ wages. Without such a helping hand, it would be impossible for Spurs to keep the 31-year-old on for a second season.

One solution might be for Daniel Levy to offer to buy Bale outright from the Spanish which might cost as little as £25million, however, that wouldn’t address the salary issue. Marca believe that Bale will be sold, just as James Rodriguez was to Everton, as the giants look to ease their current €283million wage bill. There is a third option, that Bale returns to the Santiago Bernabéu IF Zidane were to be replaced, but that would presumably mean asking Gareth to forget the abuse he received from Los Blancos fans. Either way, more Real Madrid subsidizing looks unlikely.

I am given to understand from a source close to the club, that Bale was not a Mourinho pick, rather an impossible to ignore opportunity presented to Levy. Whatever the financial juggle Spurs went through to make the move happen, Bale is not cheap to feed.

Come next summer, Daniel Levy will need to make a difficult decision. To have enjoyed the romance of a season long Bale loan, or thrash out a seemingly impossible deal to let the boy finish his career in North London.

Ok, so he didn’t care about getting fat while Jose was his manager. Whatever the case, you had that happen to a world class player on Jose’s watch. ‘Master motivator’ doesn’t really fit with that. Hazard’s fault I agree but what was the dynamic between the two that led to it? Who knows…

😆 it would help if he was free.. It would be gutting to lose both Bale and Reg.

Cant reply on other thread. Going back to Hazard and Maureen, you can simply google it and read for yourself. Recently Hazard said himself that Mourinho is the one coach who he wants to work with again. And he blames himself for getting out of shape on his extra holidays.. Its not about you believing your interpretation over mine.. You just have to listen to the man himself. Its why I said ‘from the horses mouth’…. You were running with nonsense that was reported in some of the papers. Hazard has spoken out squashing these.. You talk about logic and sense but these adjectives escape you frequently.

Sincerely hope so. Watching Bale try to go past defenders on a 1v1 has been worrying. I am not expecting the pace of a 25 year old but at 31 I think he should still be capable of going past a bog standard Ludogorets player. Tanguy needs to be more involved, he does a nice turn every 10 minutes and then goes missing. These next few games are definitely ones where these two have to step up with Son, Kane and anyone else willing.

Agree with both players but do think.they have a lot more to give . 1 month from now they really should be producing more quality consistently.

No questioning Bale’s pedigree, but unless he steps up in his performance levels there might be no point in signing him. We seem to be waiting a long time to see his fitness levels get up to standard. If we are going to give a player £200k a week I want to see £200k a week performances. Tanguy lovers take heed, he has improved from last season but he is far from what Kane and Son are providing.

He had a bad experience at RM , so much so I doubt he wants to return under the present regime and after having his confidence restored with club and country back home.

This is going to be subject to speculation (mostly subjective & wild) until next summer.
Gareth has ALL the power in his hands, he (& his agent) will know nobody will pay a fee for him AND his current wage.
If RM attempt to sell him for whatever fee, he can refuse to move to anyone, forcing RM to either keep him on full wages or loan him again (to THFC hopefully, on same deal as this season – I’m sure it was reported there was an option for a 2nd season anyway?) & then he’d be free to join whoever he wanted in 2022.
Or RM could cut their losses & negotiate a release fee next summer?

Well it depends how much he wants to play for Spurs. He could give madrid the ultimatum that he’s happy to play golf and collect his 600k per week to force their hand, refusing to move to other clubs.

Yeah it was widely reported at the time.

I would imagine Bale has mentally checked out of RM, there is no going back for him but the better he does the more valuable he is for RM in the transfer market. I would imagine something has to give to make it happen such as 2 of Lamela, Ali ir Moura getting the bullet

I thought there was an option for a second year, must have read that somewhere too.

I was amazed this first deal struck.. Such extortionate wages and Madrid are still paying him more than us! Surely they wouldnt do it for another year…. There is also another elephant in the room.. Reguilion.. What if he goes back too.

Bale Bale Bale 😷👌… It is a difficult deal to strike.. Money isnt everything. Gaz has loads of money now. If hes happy to accept a huge drop in wages to stay with us. Madrid can cancel his contract mutually agreed and give him to us for cheap or free. Surely they would save a fortune in those wages. Bales a yid, everyones happy…. Or it could turn sour, Bale forced to spend his last year in madrid sat on bench, abused by fans, but picking up 600k a week.

The real issue here is that JM wants value for money. Bale is not cheap to feed.

Subsidised loan will not happen.

If he impresses with us, then someone will pay him more money than we can afford.

He’s not ‘free’ – have another go

It’s actually quite simple if Bale agrees to the following. We either get him back on another subsidised loan, otherwise he will say he will just go back to Madrid and sit there for one more year collecting the large salary putting in zero effort, then we get a precontract for him next Jan.

He’ll have 1 year left on his contract next summer. If he doesn’t perform this season there’s no chance he’ll be bought by us or anyone else. If he does perform well and scores the goals to win us trophies, I think we’ll find a way to keep him.

I don’t know if this was a lie or not, but I clearly remember reading there was an option for a second year loan if we wanted to take it. If this is the case, he’s ours if we want him. After his contract is up we can sign him on a free.

If that was cobblers about an option for a second year, the situation could be delicate. If he does have a successful season here I would imagine Bale himself would love to stay and the club would very much like to keep him here. It would depend on what price Madrid demand and if Bale himself would be willing to sacrifice his wages.

Bale’s contract with Madrid finishes in the summer of 2022.I would think it possible Levy could strike a deal to extend him for another year, otherwise Real have to pay him another 30M.It might depend also on how successful his loan turns out to be.

One would like to think this will be a cold, professional decision based purely upon on-field performances and fitness rather than a sentimental one.

With Levy and Mourinho in charge I’m sure this will be the case and if push comes to shove they can convert those golf holes at Hotspur way into a protected marine national park or an area for snow leopards to breed.

Surely he can only be on a free if his Madrid contract is up? Is it? I have no idea.
