New Sponsor Emerges In Spurs’ Stadium Naming Rights Saga

By The Boy -

A source close to the club understands that tentative discussions are underway between ENIC’s representative on earth, Daniel Levy, and sports broadcasting giants, DAZN.

Tottenham has been struggling to find a naming rights partner for their billion pounds plus multi-purpose arena since before the stadium was finally opened, let alone before COVID-19 struck.

The task to find an appropriate corporation to have their name on the stadium was originally outsourced, then taken back in-house, and since has been a key process which has not so much drifted, as stalled entirely.

DAZN has become an increasingly disruptive and successful player in what is a multibillion-dollar market for sports broadcasting rights. The streamer which some pundits believe might have had a small hand in the European Super League plan has been busy snapping up sports rights across Europe.

I take a view that a relationship with brand such as this would be absolutely perfect for both parties.

No, it won’t. It’ll be a major income stream for ENIC.

Doesn’t make a difference. Money will come in and fall into Levy’s deep pockets. It’ll still be White Hart Lane until they eventually move to Hemel Hempstead in 2085.

Gives them a ready made venue for their boxing or other sports they have tv rights to, maybe?

Could be perfect sponsor if we have more boxing such as the Joshua fight given Dazn’s streaming of boxing events! 🤔🤔

Seems a win win.
IF it does happen, will be a major income stream for THFC with all the possible sporting events that could be held at the stadium.

DAZN already have the rights in other countries such as Germany where the pushed out Sky. They also, I suspect, have their eyes firmly on Boxing and NFL. Also, to have a voice / influence at future PL club meetings when agreeing broadcast deals etc is extremely valuable to a disruptor such as DAZN. I see this as a very good move for both parties so long as Baldy remains realistic in his demands…….

You’d think Sky already do have a connection with Man Utd. Them along with talk sport can’t go a single minute without focussing in on Manure. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Quite frankly I get sick of it.

You’d wonder why a Sports broadcaster that deals with many sports and probably has its eye on the Premier League would tie itself to one club.

Bit like Sky paying for the naming rights of Old Trafford.
