New arrival Bryan Gil discusses joining Tottenham Hotspur

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur made official their transfer of winger Bryan Gil from Sevilla. The 20-year-old has plenty of potential, which is what Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici hopes the Spain international reaches with the English side.

Gil is currently playing for Spain at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, but the winger spoke to the club’s official website about joining Tottenham. One of the first questions that Gil answered his over his initial thoughts on joining Tottenham.

“I’m very proud to join Spurs. To represent the badge of a world-class club like Tottenham and be able to play in the Premier League feels great,” Gil said.

The ex-Sevilla winger then discussed his goals and objectives now that he’s a member of the Tottenham squad. Gil doesn’t hide what he wants to do in England, and that’s to help the club win. Furthermore, the 20-year-old revealed the anticipation that he has in playing in the Premier League this season.

“I’m coming to Spurs to win points and give everything in every minute. As a player, on top of hard work and sacrifice, I want to contribute dribbling, goals, and assists,” Gil said.

“The Premier League is the world’s elite. The pace is non-stop, which is really attractive for players and fans. I can’t wait for the season to start!”

Finally, Gil touched on representing Spain at the Summer Olympics, where he hopes to take home the gold medal and begin his start 2021-22 season on a positive note.

“Playing in the Olympics is a very special thing, although due to COVID, they can’t go ahead as they should do (with fans), which is a shame,” Gil said. “Even so, it’s still a unique event and one I’ve always dreamed of competing at. Hopefully, we can come back with a medal.”

I hope i am wrong but i don’t see this working out. Probably just another N’Jie or whatever his name was. If he was any good he would have played a load of games for Seville. Instead he got loaned out a few times and then sold. Says it all.

Credit where credit is due. I’ve watched him in La Liga and, more recently, at the U-21 Euros, and, to my mind, this is as hot as prospects get. Really excited about this signing. Now, could we get on with the business of renewing our defence, please? Because it’s not so much our Achilles’ heel as our atrophied useless leg.

I would putting crossing the ball into the box head height as my top priority, but that is just me.

From what I have read a very exciting prospect. Very brave physically and a real old fashioned dribbler. Brilliant attitude to work and improving. Biggest thing he needs to add to his game is goals.
