My Plausible XI To Beat LASK

By The Boy -

The Europa League beckons once more and this time we meet LASK or PFC Ludogorets Razgrad as they are perhaps more commonly known inside Bulgaria. This is the game that comes 4 days after the West Ham debacle, and 4 days before our nest Premier League match, which is away to Burnley. This is followed by a 3-day pause before we’re back in Europe again, away again in Bosuil, Deurne, to Royal Antwerp.

I’d be surprised not to see Dele Alli start tomorrow evening, these are tough times for the 24-year-old under Mourinho, and he needs game time to impress, so he can mount a comeback.

Sanchez has given us many reasons to go bald after The Hammers’ tie, and so I’d like to see him wheeled out again, primarily, so he doesn’t blight the Burnley game!

This is also a great opportunity to see the new boy Carlos Vinicius make his debut to kick off a season long loan for the Spurs.

Agreed, Kane is irreplaceable really.. Haaland is similar to Kane though he will be doing everything very soon and he’s 6 odd years younger. He’s looking just like Harry already I wouldn’t say Haaland is different. Mbappe is something else. Robert is also still up there with the worlds best. Mbappe is different, but any team would take him, he’s arguably the worlds best. Most valuable anyway.

Somebody downvotes a comment saying we should have had a stronger squad and had competition two years ago? That’s just plain weird! 😂

For me it’s a balance of using what you have and also adding some ingredients to suit your tactics. Jose’s problem is that the kind of defensive players he used over the years are now in short supply. Most defenders don’t like to sit in deep these days.

The academy’s at clubs don’t even coach them that way as youngsters anymore. It’s all high press, not many John Terry’s about these days, thank f*ck…

Appreciated MiT. We live in a bad age for dialogue and the phrase ‘so what you’re saying is’, really ought to carry the death penalty.

I enjoy the podcasts. They give a much more transparent window into your perspective. Token bird does well with taking a hair of the edge off of the otherwise unfiltered viewpoints.

Many people tend to read a few words of text, and then put words into your mouth that were never there. These podcasts go a long way towards making most of those implications baseless.

Neither of those two could replace the Harry Kane version that Jose has Unleashed this season with the false nine. No way. Different types of players.

Still getting used to this 2 half passable or better players for each position.
I like it.

Good podcast H, thoroughly enjoyed that video. Interesting and hilarious.. Going back to Modric he downed tools, refused to play, tried to force his move to the chavs. I think people (including me) lost the love for him because of the manner in which he left.. Bale on the other hand had recently signed a 5 year extension to his contract and when Madrid came calling he tried to give us another year. They said no, come now or never. Bale has also always declared himself a fan of us, at Madrid he confessed he still watched and supported us… Players like Bale and Modders are irreplaceable really. Same as Kane.. To replace them means spending record breaking fees and buying the very best… Mbappe or Haaland could replace Kane. Noone else in the world would be as good. Lewendoski possibly but he’s in the twilight zone of his career now.

Apparently its Poch for not telling Levy sternly enough that he needs some medicine or he will get sicker.
Levy is blameless silly. 🙂

What is our second string? After the Everton and Spam games I’m not so sure any more.

not sure how this warranted a down vote…but I agree, that said, how often do we think that and struggle? Jose counter attack football is sadly what we do. People say “he not defensive as we score loads and concede loads…” he sets up defensive formation and tactics, we just really bad at it, and our squad should be full attack at all times. A great coach would adapt with what he has.

LASK should be a straightforward win, whatever team we put out. So long as we attack em and not just hope to counter once we get ahead…

We signed competition for places, it should have happened two years ago. Might have won the Champions League and also not be in this particular two-bit wooden spoon competition…

We now have a competitive squad with places up for grabs, and with the excellent business done in the transfer window, players should now theoretically have time to recover from their previous outing, instead of being wheeled out every three or four days. Whichever eleven start will be fit and ready, that’s the bonus of having a decent squad, and I am hoping the result from Sunday will give the players the attitude to want to make up for what happened.

I worry about putting a 2nd string out against LASK. No european team are mugs, and we need to win. I like hte look of that team as a 2nd string, but I wuld be shocked to not see Kane and Son start. Or even Bale.
