Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, José acknowledges that Pierre Hojbjerg fitted the profile of the player that Tottenham needed.
The Portuguese believes that the Dane brought the stability and dynamic to Spurs that had been missing and complimented the existing talent in the squad. I’d actually go one further and suggest that minus Hojbjerg, we look significantly weaker, to a degree that the ‘mid block’ strategy might well collapse. One cannot remove a player with such drive and technical abilities as Pierre and simply shuffle everyone around a bit. The 25-year-old’s standards are too high.
