What’s that line about not kidding a kidder? José Mourinho’s credentials as the grand master of mind-games were in doubt for a few moments, but the Portuguese soon ironed the situation out. Jürgen Klopp’s narrative about injuries peaked recently when the German decided to try and savage a BT Sport presenter live on air, in relation to the intense scheduling of games.
On that occasion, the Liverpool gaffer was roundly mocked by many fans as he’d picked his fight with the wrong person. Oh, and he’d got his argument about-face too. Even the vanilla Gary Lineker backed the Des Kelly, the man holding the BT microphone; who also held his own in what was a bizarre rant.
The latest bad news for Klopp now, is that Mourinho hasn’t any time for the physio room sob stories either. This season could prove to be a tough learning curve this season. I’m predicting more bumps in the road ahead.
