José Mourinho Does Not Seek Christian Eriksen Return

By The Boy -

Talk of a return of the Dane to N17 is beginning to garner a modest amount of traction with Moussa Sissoko telling fans in a club Q&A session that Christian was a nice guy; this against a backdrop of Inter Milan appearing to have run out of patience with the 28-year-old, seemingly not long after he landed in Italy.

Eriksen has made a reasonable number of appearances over last season and this for his new club, but has made 11 starts from the bench… plus being subbed on an additional 8 occasions. I understand from a source close to the club that José Mourinho would not be inclined to bring the boy back into his new and improved Tottenham side. Whilst it was made clear to me that there were no personal issues, the Portuguese was ‘completely focused’ with his squad, who he is in the main, extremely happy with.

I take a view that this story has as much value as the idea of the now 35-year-old Luka Modrić returning for a swansong spell at Spurs.

So you wouldn’t want a top form (forget about the rest of it) eriksen back? Come on man. Straight swap with winks? I bet Jose would

In my opinion, in this era, playing in the worlds elite club competition is worth both the F.A Cup and League Cup. It’s more prestigious, and just as hard if not harder to achieve.

Therefore 4 years of playing in it is a part of the club’s history.

None of the people I mentioned were ever involved in us finishing as high in the league four seasons running either. So it’s all relative. Proud period, raised the bar and our standing in the world…

I guess we shouldn’t talk about Gazza, Bill Nic, Berks, bearing Real Madrid? All in the past… 🤔

I’d take Poch back tomorrow (and back him properly) but I’d pay for Eriksen to play for someone else. So am I a hopeless romantic or more a fan of high press and ball retention? 😂

We Spurs fans do have a penchant for nostalgia when it comes to some players and managers.

The wheels came off Eriksens bus some time ago. He and the beloved Poch are history and their only mention should be as such. Past tense only

History now. He was once one of the top 5 playmakers in Europe, but we didn’t pay him enough so he walked. End of.

I reckon José could get it back out of him (if he came back with his heart in it. I’d 100% have him in my squad. He can play when he’s ready man. He can serve it up. Plus if you’re not on top of your game with José you won’t get one.

You won’t see him in this bad man league any time soon. He’s got a phobia🌚 that’s what happens when you start out big see.

Another impressive attacking display from AVB last night against Citeh. 😂 Why do clubs keep employing him? Because he’s cool with a sporting director? I don’t get it, he’s sh*te…

I prefer (AC) Milan to Inter hence my slightly disparaging comments.

I don’t mind Inter, I think they’re a good club and we’ve had some good ties with them over the years. You’re probably right though.

I don’t think Inter will make any finals- they’re pretty poor but they do have a very good manager in Conte (so you never know).

No thanks to Eriksen and completely agree with DannyG. Spot on with this assessment. The guys who want Eriksen back are the same hopeless romantics that want Poch back..

I don’t want to seem unappreciative for what Eriksen did for us, but I don’t think he has the character of a winner. He went missing in big games, most notably the CL final.

When he moved, he came out with some line about having a better chance of winning at Inter than Spurs, but he had the best chance he’ll ever get to win the biggest trophy of them all and he fluffed his lines. The only person he can blame for his trophyless career is himself. Sure he could dig us out of a hole against the lesser teams, but to win you need players who can handle the pressure of the big occasion and I don’t think he can.

I prefer our new Dane.

He had his chance. We’ll make him look foolish when we win the Europa League this season.
