Mourinho Delivers His Own “We is us” Moment To Demonstrates Spurs’ Love For Bergwijn

By The Boy -

I’m immensely proud of the way that the coach of my club signalled his protection to Steven Bergwijn today, and cannot help but be reminded of Andre Villas Boas’ moment when he was referring to the blatant manipulation of his words by a pair of journalists that thankfully no longer show up in media rooms too often.

When Boas had his “we is us” flashpoint with Neil Ashton back in 2103, it was a snide attempt to debase the Portuguese. It failed, like most such miserable things in life do. Many fans embraced the “we is us” thing. It was a nice win.

Today, the clowns that that sought to hurt Steven Bergwijn online, also lost.

The club is us, and the responsibilities and the rewards are all shared equally amongst everyone, because that is how a team operates.

Anyone seeking to further comment on Bergwijn as a footballer may wish to up their analysis game; before opening their online cakehole. Or risk being left looking like ‘an Ashton’.

I think there is a degree of frustration because he’s playing alongside two world class players who deliver a world class finish or assist every game near enough.

The fact is he’s fallen short with the ‘final ball’ whether a shot or assist the last two matches and I think people are as frustrated for him as for the result.

He’s ALMOST something quite special.

Hurling abuse at him isn’t on though – his work rate and overall performance level is keeping him in that side – he’s earned his place.

You saw Moura come on late…surely he’s preferable to what Moura served up from the bench?

You blame José coz you ain’t got a clue what’s going on. (Coz you can’t read about it) I suggest you stop running up your gums about tottenham.

I’ve no idea why anybody would want to lay into Bergwjin after his display against Liverpool, on any level in fact.

Some people (including Jose) think that doing very little in a game but having three decent chances against a team that are coming at you constantly makes you the better side.

I completely disagree, Bergwjin was only carrying out instructions as were the whole team. The fact that our forwards had so few touches in the opposition half means they’re barely warmed up to take a chance like that.

Secondly Bergwjin isn’t a striker, so yes he can finish but he’s going to need to get in the groove and play with the ball to gain composure. I blame Jose as much for the narrowly missed chances as any player, Kane included for his.

Anyone calling out Bergwjin in the context of that match needs a head transplant…

The idiots abusing Bergwijn should be traced and banned for life from the club. They have no place here. Love Jose’s mentality on this. Shows a great team ethic and its so obvious that everyone on and off the pitch are buying into what he is trying to build.
