Tottenham Hotspur are on the hunt for a new permanent manager after the sacking of Antonio Conte.

Despite the Italian’s contract ending at the end of the season, his outburst aimed at players and club owners led to his early dismissal.

Tottenham were already searching for a new manager prior to Conte’s sacking, with Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique being the two names mentioned the most.

And now, Sport has shared the latest regarding Tottenham’s interest in Luis Enrique.

According to the report, Tottenham ‘stands out’ as the ‘most likely destination’ for the Spaniard along with Chelsea.

The report also claims that the Spanish tactician, has been touted as the “dream” appointment for Spurs as they search for Antonio Conte’s replacement.

The Times previously reported that Luis Enrique is ‘open’ to any approaches from Tottenham and is keen to work in the Premier League.

The 52-year-old, who won the “World’s Best Coach” award in 2014/15 with Barcelona, has an attacking style of play and his preferred formation is a 4-3-3.

He won nine trophies with the La Liga giants, including the Champions League. He has previously been described as “one of the best managers” by Pep Guardiola

His pedigree and successful track record may also be able to convince Harry Kane to sign a new contract with the club.

If Luis Enrique’s appointment doesn’t work out, the report mentions Fulham boss Marco Silva as another option for Spurs.

However, for now, it seems that Luis Enrique is one of the frontrunner for the job and if he is appointed, Tottenham fans will hope that the Spanish coach can replicate the success he had at Barcelona.
