More Grief For Levy As Hoddle Draws Attention To “Negative Facets” In Spurs’ Squad

By The Boy -

Former player and one-time Tottenham coach Glenn Hoddle has added to chairman Daniel Levy’s woes by pointing out something that many fans had already realized some good time ago, namely that the solution to the club’s problems go beyond the notion that somehow the ‘right coach’ can sort Spurs out.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Hoddle said that Levy was facing the biggest challenge of his 20-years plus at the helm, adding he prays that Levy can salvage the situation.

I take a view that many of us saw this coming a long way off and that at some point, the some 550 days without making a signing had to be addressed. Football clubs cannot operate in a state of suspended animation, and at some point, one has to pay the piper.

Daniel Levy has a squad packed with serial losers, bridesmaids, call them what you will and the atmosphere clearly cannot be right, or Harry Kane wouldn’t be the subject of daily speculation, after his interview with Gary Neville.

I know you feel. It’s difficult to write anything about him without adding expletives.

If I was to write a guest blog on the subject of our clown of a chairman it would be so full of expletives that once they had been removed it wouldn’t be long enough…

someone else said it , we need joseph stalin not jose mourinho to purge this shite…..

The three clubs most negatively impacted by their owner’s actions are Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Instead of pumping money into the club, their owners have taken money out.

When we are included in the same sentence with Ashely and the Glazzers, it just shows how bad it is

I write when I feel like it and it comes from the heart. If HH decides to put one of my missives on his blog, it is his decision but it is not the reason for my amateurish outpourings.

He’s a bit off form at the moment but still scoring very important goals – the sign of a class player.

Read a Ronay article saying Southgate had played 10 different fullback pairings in the 11 matches prior to today. He won’t play Sancho for reasons beyond my comprehension, and Saka has been left out until today. The problem with England seems to be a lot more about their clueless manager than the squad, which is easily talented enough to win the tournament. Dismiss Garry Waistcoat, make Henderson a player/mgr and go win the thing.

Otherwise, he’s ok! Of course I’m totally in accord with your opinion of our CEO.

The ITV pundits reckoned it was an efficient, professional performance, I thought it was dull, unadventurous and lacking in any meaningful attacking intent apart from the goal. Harry again starved of any service. Agree with your comments on Sterling.

Don’t forget his 2m bonus on the stadium completion. No bonuses for the football side of it then Daniel? I wonder why…

Hoddle worked for Levy as his first manager after they sacked Graham, he knows what he’s all about. Don’t worry about that…

He’s quick, he worries defenders but he’s so completely overrated. Lacks quality and composure in front of goal, a basic requirement of any top drawer forward. He’s not dissimilar to Moura and I reckon Moura even has more quality.

Hard to believe we are in this position two years after moving into the new place. You can’t reasonably blame the pandemic for even 15% of this, there just doesn’t seem there was any plan, strategy plan or contingency regarding what we were exactly going to be doing as a team going forward.

This to me proves that Levy doesn’t actually value the football side of things as particularly vital in any way, shape or form. He’s jumping around now and bleating on about losing touch with our “core values” only because there’s been a backlash. He’s perhaps concerned that the revenues from the customer base might drop off a bit.

He says that he says that he feels it like the fans do when we don’t get a good result, this is clearly a lie. If he did, he would insist that we don’t go over a calendar year without making a single signing, for a start.

A couple of summers ago when Donna Cullen put out a statement regarding Amos and Skipp being promoted to the first team, and that Daniel does everything that’s best for the club, I almost fell off my chair!

Funny how stuff like that get’s lost, fits exactly now though doesn’t it?

Maybe nobody will want Kane anymore. He didn’t start scoring and probably won’t in that team.

This England side is an abomination to football. I honestly haven’t seen Kane touch the ball all 2nd half. Sterling was offside the whole hour he was on the pitch, and the only player with an ounce of personality or imagination…Grealish…was subbed after 60 odd minutes.

Rather have a dental procedure than watch that utter Bolox.

Cracked record time: if we sign him, I’m tapping out. My anger levels just couldn’t take an entire season of him.

Given the ball away nearly every time and Kane trying to cut in and get shot in and Sterlings standing in front of the keeper like a lemon in an offside position. Infuriating.

The Club is in the mire all due to one mans EGO.
While he is in charge we will never realize our potential as one of the worlds best supported football clubs.
The Stadium will be a toxic place to be next season for sure.

So sick of Sterling. No wonder Kane can’t get a sniff, he’s playing so deep, Sterlings in all the positions Kane should be in, it’s ridiculous. Harry’s the centre forward ffs. Sterling should be providing him.

For Hoddle to come out with this veiled criticism shows the gravity of the situation as he is normally reluctant to say anything controversial about his old club. I believe he is completely understating the problems by saying that “there are too may facets to the squad that are negative”. This merely touches the surface as to the mess we are in. What is so egregious to the supporters is the final realisation that Levy has spent twenty two years rinsing the fans to enrich himself at the expense of success for the club.
When you consider that Enic have not even invested in the club which is valued at reputedly circa two billion, Levy has been paid a small fortune to oversee this failure. I would like to give credit to MiT who analytically pointed this out yesterday and I would never wish to be accused of plagiarism. Levy has been the highest CEO in the PL for the last ten years. The remuneration committee of Enic decided to pay him a bonus of £3 mill for delivering a stadium 100% over budget and one year late in delivery. He then proceeded to deceive ST holders by asking them for money in advance for the new stadium , despite knowing that it wasn’t ready and that we would be playing at Wembley for another season. Following Covid which he uses as a blanket excuse for the mess we are in, he then proceeded to furlough the staff, although out of the kindness of his heart, he offered some of the ground staff the opportunity to cut the grass at Levy Towers. He then sacks one of the most successful managers of all time the same week as the Carabao final in order to avoid paying too much compensation. So poor is his reputation now that he cannot even hire a journey man manager like Fonseca to run this rotting corpse.
I would love to know what this monster has cost the club, not only in his wages and bonuses but also in the compensation that has had to be paid out over the years to managers, coaches, Dofs, technical and scouting staff paid for by THFC, not by Enic, let alone his cataclysmic recruitment dealings in the transfer market. All that has happened in this history of his lack of accountability and utter ineptitude is that he now owns 30% of something of great value whilst the fans continue to be completely misled and lied to season after season whilst this miserable excuse for a human being continues to preside over this unholy pile of manure whist being paid top dollar. How long must this continue?
