Tottenham fans have plenty to anticipate this January as they prepare to welcome promising South Korean talent Min-hyuk Yang to North London.
The 18-year-old winger, who rejected several top Premier League clubs to join Spurs on a five-year contract earlier in July for a fee of €4 million, has continued to capture attention in the K League 1 with his remarkable form for Gangwon FC.
His recent performance against Gimcheon Sangmu only reinforced his status as one of Asia’s brightest young prospects.
In the 64th minute of the match, Yang showcased his talent with a spectacular goal. Following a partially cleared set-piece, the ball fell to Yang just outside the box.
He struck it cleanly on the half-volley, sending it beautifully into the bottom left corner.
His goal clinched a 1-0 victory for Gangwon and boosted his season stats to an impressive 11 goals and 6 assists across 35 appearances.

An impressive signing: Min-hyuk Yang
Yang’s exceptional play this season has also seen him set multiple records in the K League. In June, he made history as the first high school player to sign a professional contract in the league.
Additionally, the teenager has become Gangwon FC’s youngest debutant and the youngest goalscorer in both Gangwon and K League 1 history.
His impact earned him four consecutive Young Player of the Month awards—another feat in the league’s history.
Unsurprisingly, comparisons with Tottenham captain Heung-min Son have already begun, and fans are eager to see if Yang can follow in his compatriot’s successful footsteps.
Yang’s ability to play on both wings adds valuable flexibility, making him a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s fast-paced system.
The North London outfit have been left incredibly impressed by the youngster and key figures behind the scenes believe that the South Korean could end up being one of their best summer signings.
Although Tottenham’s squad is already rich in attacking talent, his January arrival will provide fresh depth and energy as Spurs enter the latter half of the season.
Tottenham are hopeful that Yang will bring his goal-scoring prowess and a winning mentality to the club, strengthening the legacy of South Korean talent at Spurs, inspired by Son.
