Tottenham Hotspur completed a deal to sign the Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall during the January transfer window.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been loaned back to Djurgardens for the remainder of the season and he will join up with the London club in the summer.
His teammate Albin Ekdal believes that the midfielder is an incredible talent who will be worth the money for Tottenham in the near future. The experienced midfielder’s comments came after Djurgardens’ comprehensive 4-0 victory over Nordic United FC where Bergvall scored a stunning solo goal.
He said (h/t SportWitness): “He showed incredible talent today. He is showing that he is worth the money that Tottenham bought him for, so it will be exciting to follow him and play with him for a few months before he flies off toe Europe. He has a great future.”
The North London outfit reportedly paid around £8.5 million for the midfielder and the transfer could look like a major bargain if the Swedish international manages to fulfil tremendous potential.
The 18-year-old is a technically gifted central midfielder who can operate as an attacking midfielder as well. He will add flair, craft, control and composure to the side.
He is expected to be a part of the Tottenham first team next season and it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the Premier League quickly.
Tottenham have placed special emphasis on signing talented young players and they have already brought in players like Ashley Phillips, Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven this season.
The North London club will hope that the 18-year-old can continue to improve with regular football at Djurgardens this season and make an immediate impact in the Premier League next season.
