Micky van de Ven has taken to social media to offer an update regarding his fitness ahead of Tottenham’s busy festive schedule.
Van de Ven has missed Tottenham’s last six matches across all competitions due to a hamstring injury sustained in the 2-1 win over Man City in the EFL Cup at the end of October.
Jamie Carragher predicts Spurs to finish above Man Utd, but where?
In his absence, Spurs have kept just one clean sheet, conceded nine goals and only won twice.
Manager Ange Postecoglou only recently provided an update on the fitness of Van de Ven and defensive counterpart Cristian Romero, suggesting the duo are ‘not too far away’.
Spurs fans will hope their manager is telling the truth as the busy festive schedule begins.
The Lilywhites drew 1-1 with Fulham at home on Sunday but there’s no time to rest, travelling to Bournemouth on Thursday before facing London and top-four rivals Chelsea the weekend.
There are another two games next week, as well, with Spurs travelling to Rangers in the Europa League and Southampton in the Premier League.
Micky van de Ven offers promising fitness update
Spurs supporters will be much more optimistic following Van de Ven’s latest update.
The Netherlands international has posted a series of photos of himself on Instagram, both at training and out and about in his personal life.
Van de Ven’s post also includes a video of him doing a running drill at Tottenham’s training ground, with the caption: “On the way.”

Although prone to injuries, Van de Ven’s pace and ability on the ball make him one of Tottenham’s most important players.
And given that Spurs haven’t won back-to-back Premier League games since September, it’s vital they get someone of his influence back as soon as they can.
