Tottenham Hotspur picked up a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the final of the UEFA Europa League last night.

They have managed to turn around a disastrous campaign into a successful one with a strong performance in the final, and former manager Mauricio Pochettino sent out a congratulatory message to his former club on social media.

The Argentine manager shared a message on his Instagram story, which read: “Congratulations to the Spurs family”.

Pochettino has previously come close to winning a European trophy with Tottenham when he guided them to the final of the UEFA Champions League, only to be defeated by Liverpool.

Tottenham fans will be delighted with the way their season has turned out in the end. Tottenham have secured Champions League qualification for the next season, and that could prove to be vital when it comes to holding on to their best players and signing quality players in the summer. It will be a huge boost to their revenues as well.

Can Postecoglou keep his job?

It will be interesting to see how the future of Ange Postecoglou unfolds over the next few weeks. The Australian was heavily linked with the move away from the club in recent months after a disastrous Premier League campaign. However, he has helped him win a major trophy after 17 years, and it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy is willing to let him stay on beyond this season.

Postecoglou displayed great maturity and pragmatism to grind out a positive result for his team in their most important game of the season. It will be interesting to see if he can take up a more sustainable approach going forward. Tottenham have been criticised for their overly attacking style of football, and they will need to find the right balance between attack and defence if they want to succeed.
