Massive blow as Tottenham are set to be without their star player for 6 games

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur face a significant blow as superstar Heung-min Son is set to miss several weeks of action due to his commitments at the Asian Cup starting January.

The South Korean forward has been in sublime form, netting 10 goals in 15 Premier League appearances this season.

With the Asian Cup scheduled from January 12 to February 10, Son’s absence creates a void in Spurs’ lineup during a crucial period.

And South Korea being one of the favourites are expected to go far in the tournament which could result in prolonged absence.

Spurs have three matches scheduled in January including and a FA Cup tie which if they win, they will have another fixture towards the end of the month.

February will see him miss two games, Everton and Brighton, but they will hope that Son has returned for the match against the Seagulls.

He has established himself as one of the most influential players in the team which makes his absence a massive blow for Ange.

While Richarlison seemed to have found his form back against Newcastle where he scored a brace, Son’s absence could prove to massive.

It is absolutely necessary for Spurs to sign a striker in January and they are reportedly eying either a left winger or a forward.
