Mason Rumoured To Have Dropped The Same Spurs Player Again For This Afternoon’s Clash

By The Boy -

A source close to the club believes that Joe Rodon will not start today against Wolverhampton Wanderers and may not even make it onto the bench for today’s big game, which kicks off at 14:05 hours.

It was added that it was not thought to be the case that there had been some almighty bust-up between the Ryan Mason and the former Swansea City star.

Rodon’s last game was the 2-2 draw against Everton in the Premier League on 16.04.2021.

The 23-year-old has to date played 11 times for Spurs in the league, making 8 starting line-ups and on the remaining 3 occasions were appearances made from the bench.

Eric Dier has been seen as a Mason favourite which makes for a frustrating stance from the interim coach, but then Ryan is the one taking the training sessions at Hotspur Way.

I am trying to take a pragmatic view, that the season is (thankfully) nearly done and that hopefully in the near future, the club can announce a permanent gaffer, allowing us to try at least to all move on with our lives.

THIS. The club is currently being run as a friendly place where certain players enjoy too much influence instead of being in the business of winning football games.

Until we get a Chairman who employs a coach and backs him, giving him the tools he needs…even Pep couldn’t turn this ship around.

Definitely not at the moment, no. We know it, he knows it; and most startlingly of all, Levy knows it. The whole experience will likely have an influence on his future progress in management. Time will tell as to whether it’s positive, or otherwise. In the meantime, we’re somewhat rudderless

Winks could be a better player elsewhere. He needs new ideas and team mates.

As much as it’s a good idea to have home grown players, suck as HK, players like Winks, and of course Mason are never destined to win major silverware.

All those managers had managed at a level higher than academy U21’s coach before they got the bigger job. I’m not sure RM has asparagus to be a manager. His team selections and tactics don’t suggest he has the head for it.

These players, on paper, should be good enough, as a collective, to beat Wolves. What does seem obvious though, from performances over the past couple of years, is that in reality, they are not. To my mind, anyone trying to create something, using materials that are stale, or past their best, if you will, do you blame the materials, or do you look at those responsible for managing the supply of said materials?

The season is over so he can play Doris the tea lady at the back if he wants. I just don’t want Spurs to end up in that Europa Conference League nonsense playing against absolute fodder. We can do without that.

If tottenham lose its the players fault. The same players that got two managers sacked.

He was pretty brave to take it on. I’m cutting him slack. The players have a responsibility too and are also accountable. Dele winks dier Davies need to leave. Too much influence around the place. Respected too much. Get’m out

Not disagreeing with you, but here’s a small list of unremarkable players, who went on to coach and manage with degrees of success; Jurgen Klopp; Jose Mourinho; Arsene Wenger; and Alex Ferguson, since knighted for his achievements.
I genuinely feel some sympathy for young Ryan. He’s stepped up to caretake a role that he himself will know he’s not ready for. But, he’ll also probably have been well aware that saying no to the dark lord would probably not do his future prospects, at the club he loves, any good at all. If that’s not the definition of being between a rock and a hard place, I’m not sure what is.

What do you expect from him? Whatever it is its too much. He’s a boy doing a man’s job he didn’t ask for. I can totally understand why hes playing the players he knows best. Don’t agree with it though. R mason doesn’t deserve any stick at all. We should be supporting the boy.

Ryan is picking what he feels are senior players to get 3 points required. But senior player isn’t the same as better player. Buck sits with Ryan that the academy and player development takes a back burner compared with getting 6th place, it shows his true footballing beliefs

Even in Ryan’s short spell it’s clear to
see that he doesn’t understand how shit a defender Dier actually is….

Can only hope that the reason that the permanent manager hasn’t been announced yet is because he is finishing his season off at another club. It’s Levy and ENIC, they know the financial damage in these uncertain times it could do not appointing somebody before the Season Ticket renewal deadline.

personally I fully believe that even if full crowds are back next season, attendance at football games will be lower.

I’ll say it again… Young Ryan’s playing his mates. This season ended a while ago for the players with their poor attitudes.

Watching the FA cup final yesterday we saw two teams and managers who are there for their club and one another. Anyone who thinks Brendon Rogers would leave Leics for us must’ve had a bang on the head, or taken too many class A’s.

Both clubs have owners who do things differently but care passionately about the clubs they govern. Leics are a well run club as are Chelsea. Why would any right minded manager want to come to a club that is an absolute shambles when it comes down to matters football.

In the past we’ve been told it’s everyone else who’s doing it wrong. Spurs want to do it the right way. Organically, was the buzz word. A team made up of products of a world class academy. Players with Spurs in their heart. Meanwhile, well run clubs identify weak links in their squad. They identify suitable replacements and buy them. They don’t haggle on price. They don’t leave it until the last possible moment to sign said replacement in the hope of getting a few quid off. They don’t then leave it months to get that player in the team.

Ryan Mason is a product of the Spurs academy. He was an ok player but never a player that would catapult Spurs into the big time. Ryan like the majority of our academy players go into a life in football just not at Spurs.

A twist of fate has seen Ryan back at the academy. A further twist has seen him elevated to first team manager. A role, like his playing career at Spurs, that is way above his level of expertise and ability . Do I begrudge him playing his mates ? In a way yes. But ! It’s 6 games. Our season was already over when he got the job. Enjoy your second moment in the spotlight. It’ll be over soon. Then you go back to that guaranteed role as U21’s coach where life will become a much simpler affair.

Danny picking the team again working the strings from above. Sooner Mason returns to part time football the better for rodon at least. Has rodon done to Mason what eriksen did to big Jan.

It really does not matter who Levy picks, one group hates playing with the other.

If they want to be taken seriously then Dier should be nowhere near a starting 11 come next season’s opener.

I doubt Joe would have had a bust up, not that kind of guy, he’d just take the decision of Mason and bide his time.

we need to collapse or finish 6th only real options 7th and that conference league will be embarrassing as I doubt we would win that either

I would’nt be surprised if we see Dier, Ali, Winks and Bale in the team this afternoon. Wonder what bet the bookies would offer on that selection?
