Mark Lawrenson predicts intriguing Tottenham match vs Leeds

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham will take on Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend as Jose Mourinho’s team looks to get back to form after a run of four winless league games.

They haven’t won since they beat Arsenal 2-0 and this game is another chance for them to end that run.

Leeds United has emerged as one of the most exciting teams to watch on their return to the Premier League this season.

The Whites are heading into this game in fine form, as they have won their last two league games, with clean sheets.

They beat West Brom 5-0 away in their last league match, and they will be confident that they can get something from this match as well.

Mark Lawrenson, however, thinks that Jose Mourinho’s men will win the day.

He admits that Leeds plays a fine attacking style of football, but their being adventurous on the front will open them up for Tottenham to earn all three points tomorrow.

He says via his BBC column: “This is such an intriguing match because of the difference in the way both teams play, and how both managers see the game.

“Leeds completely dismantled West Brom earlier this week, and their game plan will be ‘up and at ’em’ here too.

“That is exactly how Tottenham like opposing teams to be, though. I just feel it will play into Jose Mourinho’s hands a little bit, as his side look to get back to winning ways.

“It won’t be dull. It never is with Leeds – they have you on the edge of your seat, whichever end the ball is at.

“Prediction: 2-0”
