Manager admits ‘it would be hard to say no’ to Tottenham if they came calling

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers as potential replacements for Antonio Conte.

The Italian could be sacked during the international break following his furious rant after the draw against Southampton. The Italian manager criticised his players for being selfish and questioned their attitude after the draw.

It seems that the club hierarchy are currently holding internal talks regarding the Italian’s future.

Conte would have left the club at the end of the season anyway because his contract expires in the summer. Tottenham have not made any efforts to renew his deal and it remains to be seen who they bring in as his replacement.

Former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has been tipped to replace the Italian until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he would find it difficult to turn down the job if Daniel Levy asked him to take over until the end of the season.

“If someone asks you, I think it would be hard to say no, I’ll be truthful,” the 76-year-old said to talkSPORT.

“When you love it, you do find it hard to say no, as Roy [Hodgson] and Neil [Warnock] would agree. And it’s not the money, it’s the challenge. You love it, the buzz of it, winning a game is a fantastic feeling. It’s hard to say no.”

The 76-year-old did well during his time at Tottenham and he shares a close relationship with the Tottenham chairman and the fans. Redknapp could bring some much-needed stability to the club at this difficult time.

Furthermore, his man-management skills have always been exceptional and he could help calm things down and lift the morale in the dressing room.

Tottenham need to perform at a high level in order to secure Champions League qualification and an experienced manager like Redknapp could prove to be a wise addition.
