Lazio president Claudio Lotito has ‘decided to go all the way’ to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
Lloris has been earmarked as an ideal replacement for Maximiano, who left Lazio for Almeria after a single season.
It was previously claimed by journalist Ignazio Genuardi that Lloris, the World Cup-winning goalkeeper has agreed to lower his wage demands and will now be willing to agree on three-year deal worth €2m per year.
Pedulla states on his website that If Hugo Lloris makes the move to Lazio, he is projected to earn twice the current wage of the club’s number 1 goalkeeper, Provedel, who is highly regarded under the management of Maurizio Sarri.
He further claims that Lazio president is keen on ‘adding further quality’ to Lazio and ‘wants to close’ the deal for the veteran goalkeeper by offering him the contract that he is asking for.
Pedulla suggests that Lotito has ‘made his decision’, and now the ball is in Lloris’s court. If the Frenchman agrees to the terms without seeking additional assurances, the transfer could be finalised in the near future.
It is widely known that Tottenham are looking to offload the French goalkeeper this summer,
The Frenchman has already admitted his desire to leave the club and Spurs are willing to sell him after another poor season from him.
Lloris has been a loyal servant to Tottenham throughout his career, but his age and a season marked by several high-profile mistakes leading to goals have prompted the club to consider his departure.
A move away from Spurs might provide Lloris with the opportunity to rediscover his form and rejuvenate his career.
