Transfer Insider Dean Jones has shared his thoughts on the ongoing speculation surrounding Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur.

Jones suggests that the silence from Kane’s entourage indicates that the player’s mindset might be leaning towards a departure from the club.

The England striker has been subject to transfer rumors for a while now, especially considering his contract is set to expire next summer and there have been no indications of a contract extension from his side.

Recently, there have been several developments in the transfer saga.

Bayern Munich made an initial offer of £60 million, which was swiftly rejected by Tottenham as it fell well below their £100 million valuation for the player.

Reports have emerged that Bayern has continued their pursuit of Kane behind the scenes, with rumors of an understanding already reached between the player and the club.

In fact, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel is said to have personally spoken to Kane and convinced him to join the Bundesliga giants.

This behavior from Bayern has reportedly left Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy furious.

Despite the ongoing speculation, there has been no official communication from Kane’s side, leading to increased speculation about his future.

Dean Jones notes that the usual response from Kane’s representatives is to deny such rumors, but their silence in this case speaks volumes.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said:

“There is a calmness around Spurs while this Harry Kane rumour flies around. Lots of sources are confused because they do not genuinely see Kane making this transfer but, at the same time, there is such conviction in the German reporting that there is definitely some substance to it.

“And people around Kane that would normally deny this stuff are not doing so. Will Bayern get towards £100m if they make a new offer? That’s the only way we find out how real this pursuit can become.”

The question remains whether Bayern will increase their offer to match or exceed Tottenham’s £100 million valuation.

Only if such an offer is made, will the true extent of Bayern’s pursuit and the reality of the transfer come to light.
