“Lots of moans and groans” – Spurs fans were not too happy with one Tottenham player against Palace

Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has suggested that some fans in the away end at Selhurst Park were not happy with Richarlison.

According to O’Hara, many supporters in the away end expressed frustration with Richarlison’s recent performances.

O’Hara stated that while the Brazilian is an accomplished international player with the desire to make things happen on the pitch, his confidence appears to be lacking.

The Brazilian forward has been attempting quick, one-touch plays rather than holding onto the ball, which could be a sign of his lack of self-assuredness.

O’Hara said:

“There’s a lot of moans and groans about Richarlison, I have to say.

“No one in that ground is having him right now, no one.

“Richarlison, he is a top player, he’s an international football star, he wants to play, he wants to get out there and make things happen.

“I just think he’s got a lack of confidence. When the ball was coming to him last night, he was trying to play balls around the corner first time instead of getting hold of it.

“Brennan Johnson came on and I thought he made a difference and he made something happen. He created the second goal really with the run.

“I think if you give him a little run in the team, I think he could definitely be playing in front of Richarlison.”

The 26-year-old has really been struggling since joining Tottenham from Everton in a big money move worth £60m.

He only scored one goal in the Premier League last season and while many thought that he would return to his best under Ange Postecoglou, he unfortunately has continued to struggle.

His performances have improved over the last few games but still very visibly lacks the confidence which is affecting his game.

He even recently admitted that he has been struggling mentally and is seeking professional help to cope with it.

Whether he will return to his best at Spurs or not remains to be seen.
