Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp makes interesting claim about Tottenham’s season

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham started off the season in fantastic form, going unbeaten in the first 10 games, winning 8 and drawing 2, sitting on top of the table.

They then suffered a series of injuries to key players which ended up derailing their form but they still did exceptionally well considering the circumstances and managed to keep themselves in the touching distance of the top 4.

And now, with all players back fit as well as a couple of additions in the squad in January, Ange is preparing his team to a strong finish to the league.

They moved to the 4th spot, one point above Aston Villa, who went on to lose their game against Manchester United earlier today.

A finish in the top 4 is very much possible, and considering their form, they could finish even higher.

And while the main contenders for the league are supposedly Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, rivals managers and players have refused to keep Spurs out of the conversation.

Declan Rice last week suggested that Spurs are still in the race, and now Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has also echoed the same sentiments.

After a convincing win over Burnley, Klopp was asked about the title race, to which he responded (via BBC):

“I know it’s every week (the title race). You add in Tottenham – who got a big win for them today. Villa play tomorrow. They are all in the mix and Arsenal obviously.”

TBH Says:

While we will be more than happy with a top 4 finish in Ange’s first season in charge, we simply can not rule out the possibility of a late title charge.

There is only 7 point gap between us and the league leaders Liverpool. Catching up with them and Manchester City will not be easy, but it is not impossible.
