Levy will remain public enemy number one if Kane leaves Tottenham claims pundit

By Bruce Grove -

Daniel Levy has been told that he will remain public enemy number one at Tottenham if he sanctions the sale of Harry Kane this summer even though he might have no choice but to do exactly that.

Kane has asked Tottenham to sell him in this transfer window and the England captain is interesting Manchester City.

The Premier League champions have the means to complete the transfer and they could return for him before the transfer window closes.

The smart thing to do for Tottenham is to look for a replacement for the goal machine.

They have been linked with a move for several players recently with Football Insider claiming that they are in talks with Inter Milan to sign Lautaro Martinez even though the Italians might be unwilling to sell the Argentinian.

Former West Ham hitman, Frank McAvennie, has spoken about the transfer situation at Tottenham and says they will struggle to sign Martinez if they don’t sell Kane.

However, Levy will remain in the bad books of the Tottenham fans if Kane leaves.

“There’s only one outcome, it’s going to get very messy,” McAvennie told Football Insider.

“Levy has put his foot down, it’s going to get messy because someone will sign Kane.

“He wants to leave, you have to let him go especially when you can get money for him.

“It’s not worth having him around the team and in the dressing room now.

“Martinez, that tells me he might go, do Tottenham have the money to sign him and not sell Kane?

“I’m not sure. Maybe Levy is just trying to take some of the pressure off by spending a bit of money.

“He’ll remain public enemy number one if Kane goes though.”
