Levy Wants Dinamo Zagreb Deal Done Next Week

By The Boy -

Incantations have been uttered and planets are beginning to align.

In layman’s terms, Tottenham are definitely up to something. One could mistake this window’s activity for one of a side preparing to win the league.

A source close to the club tells the Harry Hotspur blog that negotiations for Dani Olmo are advanced, and all being well, the Dinamo Zagreb midfielder would be signed first, ideally in the coming week, to then be followed by Giovani Lo Celso.

This technically gifted 21-year-old came to prominence in the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Levy is pushing to get this one over the line next week.

Lo Celso – as per the ITK – and opposed to the nonsense doing the rounds is still very much on the cards. Again, the understanding is that this isn’t Levy’s fault.

Kieran Trippier is being organized for a move, however the talk of him heading to exotic climes appears to have emanated from his agents.

A slow burn issue beneath all this is the Home Grown Player criteria, and that’s something we’ll examine in detail this weekend.

Never heard of Olmo. Sounds like a Muppet character. He must have summink about him mind you:

“On 17 December 2018, Olmo was named the best player of the Croatian First Football League for 2018. Also in December 2018, Olmo finished 11th in Tuttosport’s ‘Golden Boy’ award, finishing ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Josip Brekalo. On 3 June 2019 Olmo was named the best player and best young player of the 2018–19 Croatian First Football League season. He was part of the Spanish squad that won 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino, playing four matches, assisting one goal and scoring three including one in the final which made him be named Man of the Match.”

Sorry for the HITC tenuous source style comment, but I was recently on holiday with a close friend of Trips who was convinced he was Napoli bound. This was back at the end of May and just before the CL final.
I assume that deal is still a possibility for the lad, however I think ObiWan Bassaka moving to Palace may have made baldy pause and see if Palace can be extorted out of some of that cash thry just got in.

So far we have signed a replacement for Dembele who left in January so no additional depth there. Plus another “yoof” who for £10 million may earn Levy and Uncle Joe more wonga if he plays in the EPL and who has been loaned back to the selling club for next season. These “acquisitions funded no doubt by the CE sale to RM. So as things stand at the moment I see nothing that says Levy has changed his stance on transfers. Time will tell but I am not holding my breath.

“One could mistake this window’s activity for one of a side preparing to win the league. ”

Perhaps one could, if one necked six pints of cider and took 4 hits of LSD.
File away with “Levy wants”: Stadium on time an under budget, world class players agreeing to play for sub-std wages, 75M for Eriksen, and Lo Celso for 20M, and for these pesky supporters to stop asking why he pays himself exorbitant wages.

Levy can want in one hand, shit in the other, and see which fills up the quickest. Bald waster needs to go.

I’ll believe all this talk of multiple transfers when it actually comes to pass. Like the morning turd, some days there’s much huffing and puffing over nothing. there that’s taken the conversation to a toilet level.
I just can’t believe that Mr Bungle has changed his spots that quickly. Once a tightfisted meaney filling enic’s coffers, always one. I’d like to believe it but I’m struggling. I can just imagine Donna Cullen spreading all this hope whilst Levy sits back and pretends to go through the motions (oops toilet again), but despite “heroic” efforts on his part, is unable to get the big deals over thee line. No fault of his though, never is. It’s always the other chairman expecting to be paid what his player is worth, what a daft line to take, so unhelpful.

Was it something I said? Home grown players – clearly not too many on Britain’s Got Talent – hellishly expensive compared to off shore talent, technically deficient and easily distracted by the high-end lifestyle. Yes, I know Dele only cost 5 mill and he’s better than Ozil but last season he was awful. You can’t put you “Brand” before your “Football” because producing shite performances does not enhance your brand and fawning to pop culture does not produce great football.

I guess we’ll know by the end of next week if Levy is intent on doing the bare minimum and making the usual show of trying or if this genuinely is a paradigm shift. Obviously hope for the latter but i’ll believe it when i see it. As mentioned below, quality cover still needed for HK and new right WB. Plus – Tobes and Jan, sort them out ffs!

I think some of us have gone a little soft because Levy has decided to get up off his arse and sign a few players instead CPOing land banks. Ill cut the little man some slack when he; treats Jan and Tobes like the super pros they are and give them what they are worth, Lo Celso and cabellos are confirmed, signs a striker and a right-full/wing back would be nice. I’d be inclined to keep Dier and tell him hes now a CB, master your craft. Id sell Deli back to MK Dons for £6 mil.

This is all excellent news, but one can’t help feeling that the authorisation for such a radical paradigm shift in our operating basis has to have come from Bahama Joe.
As we all know, we have never operated like a big club in the transfer market, as a matter of company policy. Suddenly we are aggressively ‘front running’ on transfers in a fashion which appears to have totally blindsided our nearest rivals.
United are floundering in our wake, the Arse pitifully haggling, like Levy of old, for cut price bargains, Chavski banned and Liverpool still in celebratory mode. Only City appear to be going about their business with typical efficiency.
It does appear that Poch is REALLY being backed, in unprecedented fashion, with an assault on the EPL title and a return to the CL final as real objectives being embraced by ownership, rather than just paying ‘lip service’ to the notion.
The addition of Ndombele, plus Olmo and Lo Celso and possibly also Ceballos on loan, would be an astounding upgrade to our midfield and attacking midfield options, which would see one or two of our current midfielders surplus to requirements.
Most likely candidates for the chop would be the unfortunately injury prone Victor Wanyama and the terminally regressed Eric Dier. As mentioned it would also light a bomb under Dele’s arse, if he starts get splinters from sitting on the bench.
All that would be left then would be to upgrade our FB positions, perhaps Sessegnon and Aarons, bearing in mind the home-grown requirements, give Toby and Jan two year contract extensions and this would go down as the most monumental and successful transfer window in our entire EPL history!

Get the two Sessegnons in and keep the rest. 4 cups, plenty to go round.

These recent links are really good news.Although Olmo is a wide man the others are midfielders and that is great. But we mustn’t lose sight of the fact that replacements are required in other areas and particularly a back up for Harry.
If all this were to come to pass than I am prepared to cut Levy a large portion of slack.Let’s get it done and take advantage of the situation at the arse and chelski. To do is to dare Rodney.

Harry’s backup is well established Son & Moura scored plenty without him.
Need to sort the outside backs. Toby is already back into training, him & Verts need to be offered better deals. Foyth & Sanchez are their backups, with Foyth looking good as RB cover.

Ndombele, olmo, lo celso and ceballos would be an amazing signal that we’re actually planning to win the league. Keep Tobes and Verts as well and I’m a lot happier than dele, son, sissy, moura and eriksen – who must be getting worried. These four would revolutionise our middle, and clearly poch isn’t too worried about defence with sanchez and forth as capable understudies. The lack of support for Kane is bemusing but I guess Poch is thinking Moura/Son ?

I just read that £60m is the price for Lo Celso and am stunned and just had to vent. I watched him play in the Copa America and did not see anything that leads me to believe he is worth anywhere close to that price. He is Eric Lamela’s twin in many ways – his first touch is shaky and he can only dribble, pass and shoot left footed (has a great left footed shot too) – but his work rate doesn’t come close, he does not pass as well and he does not defend.

On the other hand is Dani Olmo, who absolutely oozes class. He does not play out wide as someone mentioned earlier, he plays a similar role to Dele in that he is constantly moving and finding gaps in the middle between the defenders. He would fit in perfectly on the other side of Kane. I did not see him make a single turnover in the entire U21 Euros, which is impressive when you consider how fast Spain were moving and passing the ball in super tight spaces.

IMO, we cannot replace Eriksen, there are so few players with the vision, touch and class he has. The key to getting better (with or) without him is to change our attacking system and play faster with constant movement and quick, one touch passes – something Olmo (and Ceballos) does extremely well.

Struggling to get excited here. We have had a piss thin squad for years, we’ve signed 2 players (one went straight out on loan), 7 players contracts have ended & we are still likely to lose Toby, Trips & the corner taker

We are “rising” I ain’t paid to get into the new stadium yet and had no intention to.(community tickets rule) I can see myself happily putting my hand in my pocket the season after this one to watch us. Levy found the way to make me do so. Grandad grandad I wanna go watch American football” here we go! See. More money!! It is for spending though.

Fully agree with you on that one. Dele in particular believes he has a divine right to start. This will be a good kick up the backside for him.

Jansen and Nk you can stay. The b team needs you. No one wants them anyway. I bet their names came up in the Clark deal. Mad dog said. “No thanks

Hahaha. Don’t forget I’ve been sending him a full nappy every week, since 2006.

Luckily I’ve been there every step of the way. Keep up the good work ?

Must also say that I found the 7 new signings for the Hotspur Women for the new league refreshing. That makes it 9 people for this window

Let’s not get carried away. So far we have only made one relevant signing. And until there are pics of the next ones in the kit @ Hotspur way. I’m holding my judgement on the bald one

Levy wants the dinamo zagreb deal done by next week coz he’s been ordered to do so by poch. Poch has done his bit gracefully over the last 5 years so levy could get done what he wanted to. now its levys turn to gracefully get done what poch wants to. WIN SOME BLOODY CUPS. this must of been promised to poch five years ago and levy gonna come good on his promise I reckon. COYS. St albans FC coming to the boro later. Coles park 3 o’clock. UP THE BORO. “Carpe diem” spuringey. live football fix. ?

Because you spoke to Poch and Levy about this and they confirmed it right?

Denzil we do goal scoring attackers now. You are right though. Kane needs someone to train with. Lorentte was a brilliant training partner for kane. Kane certainly knicked a bit of technical off him.

It’s all rather exciting. Might we all be apologising to Levy at the end of the window? Sell Alli and Dier, bromance is dead.

seeing Dele and Dier on the bench looking sheepish because better players are on the field will be great and hopefully get them to up their game!

I think this is a window getting our business done early will work in Levy’s favour as other teams will panic in the next 3-4 weeks and the prices will rise….maybe for once he can see this….be great to see a bench full of players you are happy to see come on!….COYL (come on you Levy)
