Levy Pulls A Rabbit Out Of The Hat With Aurier Agreement And Considers Loaning A Fan Favourite

By The Boy -

As per previous comment, these desperate economic times for top flight football will give Daniel Levy and José Mourinho to really shine. This is not the moment for clubs that are seeking to develop philosophies or some such, things are so tight, this is about reducing exposure to risk whilst keeping the squad fresh. No mean feat.

From a source close to the club, my understanding is that Serge Aurier to AC Milan is agreed, however there is a fair amount of confusion (outside the club, at this stage anyway) on the exact fee and what is composed of add-ons.

Outgoing could be Paulo Gazzaniga, nothing solid in this one, rather that with Joe Hart in, Tottenham feels that a loan out, could benefit all concerned. If this were to happen, it is unlikely to sit well with a certain section of our support who find the 28-year-old easy on the eye.

I still think if Pele played today which the fitness etc with his athleticism he’d be pretty formidable.

We were regular cup winners, until you know what. Also we have been in top 3 or 4 so many times without really going for it. Surely its not a huge leap to be serious challengers. Our starting point is high , not from the lower divisions or bottom half

Poch took us way beyond what Levy thought possible? Mmm. Ive been saying for ages , this club should be actually winning trophies, including league titles. Not just getting in top 4 & finals. Bill Nich said 2nd is nowhere, just like Shanks & Busby. Greavsie had it right, Spurs havent built on his legacy. We are like Brad Pitt pulling Bella Emberg ffs. London based, loads of talent down the years.Huge support, but lots of negativity. Look at Burks , great cups but didnt cross Ts & dot Is. Title wasnt Liverpools property. We need some1 to mould our talent into a team. Fergie went to United & signed players for all positions as required, 1 by 1. Us. Ginola will do for a bit of fun. Its time to fulfil our potential.

Messi is up there with maradona for me….. Pele was overated. There were better brazillians at all the world cups he won. His goals record many were against the likes of the army and amateurs…. Watching pele round that keeper with a dummy (really he mistimed the ball coming across) and then miss that open goal is one of the funniest things Ive seen… Messi or ronaldo never miss those. And theres far more footage these days. Pele was found out more than once with limited tv coverage.

I’ve explained to you more than once now… Do you fully understand how much money he spent at united? Seemingly not… Do you know how many of his transfers were blocked? Did you look at all of uniteds spending under ed woodward? Did you google Maureens targets and what Ed brought him? Like I suggested? Maureen didnt want to sell what woodward was selling, and his targets like Perisic, boatang, maguire were blocked. He was given the likes of Lindaloff, Fred, Dalmat, lee grant….. Dont be ignorant man, and no calling me pance or pansy for telling you simple facts that the majority of average fans knew about because it was all over the media….. Banging on about his spending at manure repeatedly, when he didnt even spend it or want those players is wrong… Berating him and discarding his ability for something he didn’t do is just wrong…. Up the yids.

There’s no excuse for a top club… Pub teams manage to find strikers/players when needed….. Levy is obviously the reason why… Look at our transfer deals now.. Poor and slowly being dragged over the line.

Poch had no say. One minute he was beaming and happy, when the Bruno deal fell through his whole demeanor changed.. And he suggested his role should be changed from manager to head coach…. Your right Levy is no scout or sporting director. Steve Hitchen our chief scout has to be responsible for our scouting……. Poch was responsible for throwing games and cups (unless he was ordered to) and randomly saying ridiculous things. But I think him and his humour was often misunderstood.

I don’t think there’s a manager in the world who wouldn’t have him as one of the first to go once taking over as manager. Serge has many talents and attributes, few of which have much relevance to being a top level right back…

He’s better than Klopp or Pep is he? Nagelsman even? Do you fully understand how much money he spent at Utd? More than Klopp and he couldn’t even make a dent in the top of the league. The world has moved on, players and their attitudes have moved on. Man management is totally different now.

Poch took us way beyond anything Levy thought possible & that in itself created problems. Levy couldn’t/wouldn’t let go of the purse strings as I don’t think he trusted Poch enough. There’s no point on hiring Jose & then telling him he’s got to work with the players he’s got (though I’m sure he was warned that it would be tight). Levy had a choice – keep Poch & watch us go backwards or hire a proven winner, sacrifice decent football & hopefully win something.

Aurier is talented but is indisciplined and he’s not a team player and Mourinho is building a team, the same way as Bayern Munich are a team where everyone gives everything for the team and their mates. Standing in the opposition half hands on hips watching your team mates scrambling to cover for you because you can’t be bothered to get back that can’t be tolerated.

These are early days and it always starts well with managers and Levy. The amount he’s sacked probably shows that it doesn’t usually end well though.

If a manger does well then they expect to kick on with more backing, this is where it always goes pear shaped with Levy and good managers…

Messi is probably the greatest player who’s ever lived along with Pele, when it comes to football he’s scared of nothing. That’s like saying Ali was scared of fighting Enry, Enry put him down for a few seconds but Ali got back up and won. When you’re at that level there is no fear involved.

I get the impression Mourinho has the respect of Levy and if he explains why X player is no good and he needs Y, perhaps Levy is listening for the first time. Maybe one of Poch’s faults is that he was too willing to listen to Levy on player recruitment.

We have been quick to lay the blame at Levy’s door but Poch needs to take on some responsibility for this too. Levy is not a scout – he’s a businessman. He should be leaving the footballing side to people that know best. He needs to be reminded of this by someone.

I’m convinced we’ll do something really good at the end of the window that no one will have seen coming. When the deadline is looming, plenty of clubs will be more amenable to do business because of the financial pressures. Clubs like Real have a load of players they need to get off their books. Same is probably true of many others. There isn’t enough cash going around to secure moves for all these players, so come the end of the window, there could be a great deal for us.

Glad – perhaps you should stop reading after “Spurs et1882” next time as I very much doubt I will be on my knees blowing Jose just because he is our manager. My point was actually he rarely, if ever, buys a young player with “potential”, especially as a gamble in a team like ours. Was actually a compliment on him as a manager because right now we cant afford to gamble on positions. Was not saying he doesn’t give youth a chance (though I still question his credentials there too).
